CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
Top Row: Michael Downs, Bill Bates
Middle Row: Ricky Easmon, Victor Scott, Dextor Clinkscale
Bottom Row: Ron Fellows, Dennis Thurman, Everson Walls

Loved that secondary. That said, Ricky Easmon finished that season as a Buccaneer. He was on the team for 2 months and was waived in early November haha.

Loved Michael Downs. Underrated.

Yes he sure was, and how Everson Walls is not in the HoF is beyond me.

Thurman's hit on harold Carmichael was epic. Ended his streak of consecutive games with a reception and put him out of the game.

Now that the Boys are causing turnovers....
In 1985, these chaps Dennis Thurman, safety Bill Bates, safety Michael Downs and corners Everson Walls and Ron Fellows, in no particular order, were Thurman's Thieves. But blimey! Who are the others?

As I recall they were just an adequate crew despite the costume drama.
Vince Albritton, Dexter Clinkscale, and Victor Scott. edit. I think Ricky Easmon was part of the official group instead of Vince Albritton.

I recall the "Thurman's Thieves" moniker; but I can't recall seeing the photo back then.

Walls is HOF-worthy; he and Bates should be the ROH.

Well, you are one of the lucky ones.
These chumps (not Wall or fellows) were underachievers dressed in costumes.

Set your bar higher, good lad!
Bates once lost a race against a possum from East Philly. He survived on hard hits in the NFL (when he could catch a receiver) and breathless hype from the local media.

LOL.... no. Coach Landry was clear as a bell the day he was fired. That's the Gods honest truth GTB.

Playing "catch me if you can" with poor Jerry across Texas in 1989?
Until Jerry bad no choice but to fire him on the 4th hole in ....Austin?

The old man, when Jimmy finally got the Cowboys to the Super Bowl, said he would be "too busy" to watch the game. ***??? Senility or a pouty old man?
And if that cold hearted old man Tom still had his wits about him, that makes him a doubly LOUSY coach when 1989 dawned in Dallas.
Don't make me further angry. I am known in the Moldives as "fists of stucco."

The 1985 Cowboy defense had 33 interceptions, 27 fumble recoveries and 62 sacks. And, gave up 44 points to the Bears, 50 to the Bengals and allowed Eric Dickerson to go off for 248 yards rushing in the playoffs. Without those big plays on defense, the Cowboy record of consecutive winning seasons would have been one year less. All due to Thurman's Thieves.

Awesome poster.

I was a huge Michael Downs fan. He and TD were my favorites on those early 80s teams.

Back in those days was when men were men and played football to make a living, they worked other jobs during the off time. Those were the old Dallas Cowboys...

These days, they have players that can run and jump and throw a football for millions of coins and want more than several million dollars a year so they can feed the family. I loved to watch the Cowboys live at Texas Stadium. I saw Golden Richards catch a TD...

Come back and talk to me about a thing like this when you've built a thing, from the dirt up, that is and was the Dallas Cowboys Franchise. Jerry screwed Coach Landry and he knew it. why on Gods green earth would Coach Landry watch or help or do, literally, anything to help Jerry? I don't blame him one bit. You don't treat people that way and expect them to show you respect, of any kind. I wouldn't have either if I were Coach Landry. Hell with Jerry.
