I only want one thing and everything else will take care of itself: give me a real GM.

Everyone who says Tyron Smith won't come back are not looking at this man clearly. He loves the game. He had the surgery to continue the game. Even though he had pretty serious cervical spine stenosis he continued to play as much as possible. He'll give it a go. Unfortunately with the surgery he's at a higher risk for more neck/nerve injury.

I want an athletic BIG DT, another athletic LB, another safety (I'm pretty happy with Wilson), another RB.

I think they need to re-sign Aldon Smith , relegate Jourdan Lewis to backup or cut him so that means someone opposite Diggs as a new starter. Put Connor Williams on steroids with his strengthening program.

Lastly, a really smart, innovative defensive coordinator.

We have 10 draft picks don't we?

TJ Watt was passed over for a Taco

so with this FO making decisions we might be the silver and blue browns.

We need a game changing LB. A bigger faster type like Lee in his prime... that can stay healthy. Maybe the Penn State kid.
among the LBs...i like mizzou's nick bolton...wva's tony fields...and colorado's nate landman.

We are pretty good on offense. Some question marks with injuries but if Dak and Blake come back healthy our offense is pretty set. Oline will get back 2 pro bowlers in Martin and Collins and Smith another will be back too but I have little faith he can get though a season healthy but I do like Knight a lot and our depth at guard is good. Factor in Biadasz at center and a mid-late round pick and we are pretty solid on the offensive side of the ball.

Defense is where our focus should be. We need to solidify the middle of this defense. Jaylon should not be the MLB. I would have no problem spending the first two picks of our draft to move up and select the MLB from Penn State. add a beefy nose in the 3rd and I'd be more than happy. Unless we can get Aldon back on a reasonable deal I would focus more on resigning Gregory and let Chido, Lewis and Wilson walk unless we can get Lewis back on a reasonable deal. Obviously safety is a need but I always liked Wilson who is 100% a starter next year. Not sure why that's even been debated here.

Would agree that defense is the first need although I see it as DT/NT guys first then safety/cornerback. I do not think Dallas will go away from the first pick as the BPA available although since we will be drafting either 10th or 11th and if a team like the Bears comes up to get a QB, then I could see us trading back to say 17/18 spot and based on the current ranking from various sites, that will be probably be an OL guy. Will say though if Kyle Pitts falls to the 11th spot or to 17th, wouldn't surprise me to see Dallas take him as much as fans would be upset.

As to current defense, Gregory has already extended for 2 years, Smith is rumored to already have an incentive laden deal for 4 years ready to sign, Cowboys will probably have negotiations start Monday on Dak. Would hope most of the draft is defense and wouldn't mind seeing names like Daviyon Nixon DT, Iowa or Trevon Moehrig S, TCU in the mix in the first round and even second if they fall. Jevon Holland S, Oregon would be a nice pick up in the second also. Still a lot of time before the draft and there will be risers and fallers over the next 3+ months.

I don't believe we will cut bait with Jaylon Smith and we could see Lee back for a vet minimum deal. What we do in the off season as to pick ups will be key on the defense. Rumor is McCoy is coming back at DT on a similar deal as last year. Might not be an active free agent class but if Dallas could pick up Justin Simmons S Denver, it sure would help the team defense. Leonard Williams DT NYG would also be on my wish list if possible. Just doesn't seem like the year any team makes a big splash.

With Dak coming back along with the complete offensive line and add in Jarwin I have no doubt we can put up 40 pts per game next year
Defense is where we should all be concerned
We had 3rd and 4th string running backs continuously destroy us all season long- we have to fix the run defense
Also wouldn’t hurt to have 2 Charles Haley type defensive ends who provide about 15 sacks each — 6/7 sacks that we get now just doesn’t quite cut it. — maybe trade for a JJ Watt
You can have 5 Ronnie Lott type db’s but if you can’t pressure the QB it doesn’t really matter
We also have some coaching issues
Nolan has to go and I am not completely sold on
McCarthy - he is on a short leash next year to start — 3 games
If I had my wish the following have played their
last game for the cowboys —
Jaylon Smith
Sean Lee
Tony Pollard
Jordan Lewis
Andy Dalton
Dorance Armstrong
Noah Brown
Tyrone Crawford
Luke Gifford
Rico Fiedler
Chris Jones

Happy New Year
All the best in 2021

I would comment, but I don't think it would be nice to wish for a couple of Jones boys to get lost at sea.....

I want OL or a playmaker, maybe LB or S. Wouldn’t argue with a DT either
