It is extremely unlikely to happen but it would be beyond hilarious if Goodell penalized Philadelphia by seizing their first-round pick. That would be too funny.

Yes, you're right I wanted the Cowboys to tank since 3 weeks ago. It would have solidified them a top 5 pick in every round of the draft. Wouldn't you prefer a top 5 over over a 10th spot???

By the way, ............ I WAS RIGHT ONCE AGAIN!
You were wrong (wanting to tank) and wrong again as usual and totally missed the point, in your warped view it's ok for the Cowboys to lose a game/games and cheat for draft betterment but the Eagles should lose a first round pick for doing the same thing (even though they didn't). It is quite obvious you have never played competitive sports at any level or worked in a competitive field because only a loser would entertain tanking. You play to win, it's a life long goal in everything one does, integrity it appears it is something you do not have.

If we did that, we would have had our first round pick transferred to the Giants. Buy the Eagles probably will get away with it.

If the Cowboys needed them to win this would be a real story.

Don't give Philly any prime time night games next season.
That would be the hardest the NFL would hit them.
That call came from the GM or the owner.
No way the coach does that on his own.

While I agree with this idea, you know they will be scheduled against us on Sunday Night for one of our games with them.

Drama on the sideline with players and coaching staff. LOL Doug has created a huge mess.

https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/dou...en-hurts-nate-sudfeld-joe-judge-20210104.html

When Doug Pederson pulled Jalen Hurts for Nate Sudfeld early in the fourth quarter in Sunday’s season finale against Washington, many Eagles players and coaches were shocked and outraged, team sources told The Inquirer. Some were angry. Two defensive players had to be held back from approaching Pederson. Center Jason Kelce and another offensive starter went to the coach to ask him why he had pulled the starting quarterback with the Eagles trailing by only three. Hurts was distraught, as well. Even though he had been told Wednesday that there was a chance Sudfeld could play, he couldn’t understand why Pederson would make the switch, sources close to the situation said. The NBC broadcast caught Hurts on the bench after he was replaced apparently saying, “That’s not right.”

I've never lost, Jack, because I believe in winning. But, when there is no hope, you try to win the best position in the draft in order to win there. You would suck at business, and I would smoke you at poker. There is no doubt about it on both. You simply don't get it, because you simply don't have it in your cabeza. End of discussion. Go sulk in your suckiness, Losers' champion.

I feel like intentionally tanking is a good way to lose your locker room
That's what I am saying. Jason Kelce already sounded like he wasn't happy and I'm sure many others aren't also. With this and the Wentz/Hurts drama that is going on, that locker room could be in trouble. Pederson has one more year in him I think.

What message would it send? What would they be penalized for? Can't be penalized for being blatant.

The Refs can't penalize them with a penalty but the league can. Plenty of here were on "Team Tank" (I wasn't one of them) but its one thing to say the team shouldn't rush LVE and Martin back because its going to help your draft position. Its something completely different for the coaches to pull their starters out of the game anytime the team is close to tying the score.

They can put whatever players they want on the field. "Plays these particular guys, or else!" That's nonsense.

Its nonsense to say the game should be played with one team playing their starters but pulling them out anytime they get close to a lead.

Yeah, they should force them to be in the playoffs, instead of Washington! That'll teach 'em!

Is it tanking and a kill shot to the integrity of the game when a team rests starters with their playoff spot secured and nothing to gain?

Nothing will come from it but Sal Pal is an Eagles homer so for him to say this, it's kind of funny.
My thinking is that since the 2017 championship, a rift has opened up between Paolantonio and the Eagles on some level(s). Could be about HC Pederson--how he handled QB Wentz the last three seasons; GM Groseman--in drafting matters\ FA aquistions \cap issues; or maybe owner Lurie & the organization have been giving Sal the cold shoulder - not acknowledging his role in the Eagles franchise...and the reporter is retaliating.

Investigate for what?! There's nothing to investigate, he made an executive decision to save a few draft spots and throw the game, whatever.

Back in 2016 I was miffed at the Cowboys not going for the 14-2 record, since the team had clinched a first round and half the first playoff weekend off. Believe they did the same thing at the end of 2007....13-2 with the first round bye wrapped up...took our foot off the gas (and against the Commanders).

Back in the 14-game seasons, the Cowboys had two 12-2 seasons and one 11-2-1 season.
