I'd much prefer Yosemite Sam as the Cowboys' mascot. If Disney's trademark forbids, maybe another cantankerous varmint would do!

The mascots are there for the younger fans and any adult fan that likes them. Rowdy, prior to this past year for obvious reasons, worked all year long representing the Cowboys at charity events, visiting schools and kids in hospitals, goes to various football camps and he does these things on his days off from his regular job only getting a VERY small per diem. I remember an interview with Rowdy where he said his boss at his regular job is very good about arranging his schedule so he can have days off for the events he attends. Here's a thought for you. The cheerleaders were there too during all the bad years so do you want to get rid of them too?

Unfortunately for you and her what we think has less than zero to do with who Jones has as the Cowboys official mascot.

The Cowboys organization has many more important problems than anything Rowdy has done to thwart their progress.

While it's true that many, if not most, adults are far from being fond of him, his role as a mascot is hardly a destructive one.

Having stated the situation as such, if his presence is such a nuisance as many seem to think, maybe a change is justified.

Leave Rowdy alone! The children as much as the grown ups love him! He's a Dallas Cowboys tradition.

While we're considering a prospective change in this team's mascot employment, it's really not difficult to change the mascot's costume. As far as what that person does, insomuch as serving as a mascot, whether or not he deserves to be the one donning a mascot's costume is something for the Dallas front office to decide. It would seem appropriate to me, as a concerned fan, for them to seriously consider how to best please the public. Perhaps polling the fanbase for opinions regarding a potential costume change (or not) wouldn't be such a bad idea?! :)

That's definitely one way to see it and one that's certainly worthy of consideration. It does seem many here are irritated by his presence, although, it's also entirely possible that many adults would see it differently than children or even, most fans.

I'm not a fan of Rowdy, although, maybe the organization would be willing to consider their fans' likes. If not, I could easily live with the outcome of a poll, whether it decided pro or con. A mascot is simply a mascot to me and not something that really affects a team's success, by any stretch. Thus far, the Dallas FO doesn't seem to care enough to change their mascot.

Of course, it'd be solely up to the FO, whether to make any potential change, or not. In any case, it's far from being anything that drastically affects this team's success or failure. Mascots are, largely, a matter of being a popularity issue, imho.

Rowdy, Jerrah, and Boy Blunder all need to be smothered in their sleep by Charlotte, who needs to immediately assume all organizational operations. Jerry Jr. can be spared...poor little guy just wants to be left alone to play with his Leggos.

Well, that much has always been obvious. But then that's not the point of this forum is it?

There ought to be a petition somewhere by some big media guys to get rid of Rowdy, it's not a coincidence that we haven't won a SB since Rowdy was unveiled as our mascot.

Before coaching and players, Rowdy should be the #1 priority this off-season. Get rid of the curse, he started right after the Cowboys sixth Super Bowl so he better go home to West Texas or something and take care of his family there far from our stadium and fans.

You don’t need a petition just submit all the threads that have been started on this topic. There’s been several.

They should do a casting call for another Crazy Ray. It wouldn’t be the same as the original but it would be a lot better than some idiot running around in a Rowdy costume. A friend of mine was going to have Rowdy attend his daughters birthday party but she didn’t want him attending.

Oh I see if someone has a different opinion than yours and/or who started a thread, than they can't express it.
