Seems like DL has been Quinn's foundation as a defensive coach. I have reservations about this dude, but hope he brings some swag to this group in Dallas.

Very interesting hire.

Surprised Edwards didn’t get an interview. He could be leaving. He’s probably butt hurt level bravo. I would be.

DQ has HC experience. Plus his #LegionOfBoom DC exp.

near elite level. Let’s see if he’s allowed to clean house.

He did get an interview, it was stated that he was the most "prolific and intense teacher on the staff" or something along those lines. There's a thread about it buried around here somewhere.

Half of you please shield your eyes for a moment.

So either Fat Mike has no conviction in his beliefs and has done a 180 on what he told us he wanted on defense last year.

Or that lunatic owner has a new puppet.

I'll let you decide.

Ok, you can all look now.

I love this move.

How can anyone possibly claim Big Mac has no convictions, when the record clearly shows that over his now 14 years as an NFL head coach no one has been more willing to say or do whatever he believes his superiors want him to in order to keep his job -- and to deflect blame from himself, than one Michael John McCarthy.

Indeed, it takes considerable conviction to play the sycophant role as well as Big Mac has these many years.

I mean are Cowboy fans not aware that, in response to criticism after another year of pathetic Packer defense and his lackluster overall game management prevented the team from advancing in the playoffs, McCarthy publicly assured Green Bay fans that he was giving up play offensive calling duties to turn his full attention to the defense and the overall team (https://www.nfl.com/news/mike-mccarthy-explains-decision-to-give-up-play-calling-0ap3000000470259) ...

Only to vow to never again relinquish his play calling duties not even a full season later? (https://www.nfl.com/news/mike-mccar...ished play-calling,those duties in the future) in response to more criticism of the team's play?

BTW, does Big Mac call plays in Big D ... or is that something else he was willing to go back on in order to "convince" Jerry he was the right man for the job -- by allowing Kellen Moore call the plays?

no one is being a “hater”. We’re just seeing right through this bull**** that Jerry constantly falls for. He appears to be easily conned. I wouldn’t be surprised if he fell for the old “Nigerian prince scam”.
I didn’t know you were an NFL coaching expert. Besides laying on your couch playing Madden what experience do you have?

A defensive philosophy change after one year?

Nah, no reason to worry about that.

The really pretty much stopped playing Nolan's D about halfway through the season. And they hadn't really changed any of the personnel to fit his 3-4 in the first place. So our roster still pretty much fits what Marinelli and Richard were doing. Not sure Quinn can make a better defense out of the same personnel but we shall see. There is likely to be a lot of turnover moving forward.
