We're a few years of drafting and developing from getting there, and due to the salary cap and draft limitations you probably won't still have this kind of offense by the time you've built a defense that good. They were great at every level and very deep on the DL with multiple possible hall of famers. We don't need to be historically ranking on defense to win with this offense.
But we do have a few guys I think we can build around, like DLaw, Diggs, Gregory, maybe Gallimore.
Plus maybe Dan Quinn and his staff make our current players better on the practice field. The message all year from the locker room has been that this defensive staff just can't teach.
We're gonna get back to roles that our defenders know how to play, and maybe we'll have better teachers. We've also got good draft capital and I'm one who believes Will McClay is good at drafting. Last year we were top half on defense, I think Quinn can get us back there, and I think that's enough for this offense to make some real noise next January.
