With all the love for Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt, I need to remind the Arlington Jonesboys fan what Rayne Dakota Prescott did to Atlanta's defense under both of these men. I am sure the first thing Quinn and Whittare telling Jerry Dumbo GM Jones is sign Dak Prescott...

In that 2017 game where Dak was sacked 8 times he was 20-30-176-0 TD-0 int but rushed 6-42-1 TD without Zeke Elliott.

2018 was like 2020 with another Dak Prescott come from behind victory...

Ain't much love from most CZ posters for these hires. In fact, just the opposite. But it's the normal haters who hate on everything so to be expected.

Someway, somehow the hiring of two defensive coaches became yet another Dak thread. We should start calling it six degrees of Dak.
Just not drinking that Jones Town Kool Aid of Dan Quinn and Joe Whitt Jr. when the QB that lite their Falcons defense up with the Cowboys winning 2 in a row since the 2017 game (without Tyron Smith and Zeke Elliott) remains unsigned.

I am glad the Cowboys are going back to a 4-3, which they only have the personnel to play, but Arlington Jonesboys fans can not stand Dak Prescott but yet as poor a QB they protray him to be, he has lite that Dan Quinn/Joe Witt Jr. defense Up.

This video is a great reminder of how great Dak is and how terrible our offense was yet the haters say it's all Daks fault.

I think the defense is right. But the ones that actually built the Legion of Boom were Carroll, Norton, and Kris Richard. Seeing Quinn with a DC job, Gus Bradley with a DC job, and Kris Richard out of work is a joke.

The last Defensive Coordinator that led a poor NFL worst Falcons defense in 2014 was ......................................MIKE NOLAN.

Why is Jerry Dumbo GM Jones retreading rejects?

You can't hire a really good defensive coordinator because they have jobs and the only way you can get them is to promote them to head coach. Most of the time this turns out to be another exercise of the Peter Principle.

DC's that are available are typically DC's that have been fired because they sucked at the last place they coached. You need a DC that has some NFL experience and had at least some success at the NFL level so your choices are rather slim.

Just gotta roll the dice and see. Or grow your own, which I favor.

I hope Richard gets another shot outside of the nfc east.

Yep, that's the first thing anyone does on their first day on the job, tell the boss how to run his business. They've got their hands full getting that D roster upgraded, might actually benefit them if they didn't sign Prescott?

Well next season will show us if signing Prescott is going to yield anything. I suspect that we will continue to see people slavishly defend Dak based on his stats and continue to ignore the losses.

See my post on Kris Richard and why this Defensive Coordinator that never had a defense give a team a losing record does not have a job.

Dennis Thurman is at Jackson St. with Deion Sanders as DC. He was Kris Richard mentor with an excellent resume but is not in the NFL as DC. He was an ex-Cowboy and has the only legend of the Cowboys of the 80's in "Thurman's Thieves".

Mike Nolan in the last 10 years has had the NFL worst defense twice (2014 Falcons, and 2020 Dallas Cowboys), and was HC of the NFL worst team in San Francisco with the Big M&M as his OC. Jerry Dumbo GM Jones is about name retreading.

Tell Dave Wannesdat that you need NFL experience and success to be a defensive coordinator. He will show you his Super Bowl ring. You only have to know the LTD. Lead, Teach, and Develop.

If we don't sign Prescott that will at least give us a couple of more good drafts to work with.

I do not see not signing him affecting the draft, more FA but then the Cowboys have to be players early in FA and there is no indication that they plan to stop bottom feeding in the 2nd and 3rd wave.

The assumption, and it is the purest form of assumption, is that not signing him gives them the chance to build a better D. Why didn't they do that already? 20 years they haven't built a true contender D and that's a pattern and a trend.

Those videos of the Falcons legion of Gloom and Doom defense was not about stats. NFL coaches say watch the video. Dak Prescott has nothing to prove to Arlington Jonesboys fans.

Jimmy Johnson said this about making the playoffs..."win at home, and win in your division".

Dak Prescott is 19-6 winning in the NFC East. Nobody is close or will be close considering Wentz lost his starting job.

Just Win Baby. The stats are for losers. Dak Prescott is a winner and that what Dallas Cowboys football use to be all about.

As I stated before, why couldn't Quinn and Whitt Jr. stop Dak Prescott from having 2 of the greatest games of his career? Either they are not real as DCs or Dak Prescott got lucky twice with the last win a 20 point comeback and putting up 450 passing yds on the Falcons Gloom and Doom defense.

Funny how teams will take a chance and hire a head coach from the college ranks but it seems harder for lower level coaches to make the leap. Even if they may be in fact responsible for the head coaches success.

Too many retreads lying around in the NFL Coaches Country Club.

I wanted to keep Eberflus.

Losses are a team stat.
When Prescott's stats weren't great, his team record was being used to defend him.

I agree, the W-L record attached to any QB is dumb to me. Is that going to get Phillip Rivers into the HOF? Was it Marino's team record that got him in?

They’ve dedicated draft resources to defense so the effort is there. LVE, Jaylon, Charlton, Diggs, Hill, Awuzie etc.
