This may have been done before and I didn’t see it through the pages I looked through. Many of us are obviously here on this board and we recognize each other’s handles. Do you have another hobby that you deep dive into or go in message boards about?

Mine is a little strange but it’s cologne/scents. I have worn cologne since being a kid...Polo in the 80s and remember my Dad wearing it in the 70s. At 87 he still does now. I always get strong scent associations so in 2008 I started looking for a new cologne besides Cool Water, anything Armani etc that you smell on everyone. At first it was Google searches. Then it led me down a million rabbit holes where I got on a website..basenotes.net. Then I started learning about all kinds of brands that are niche etc. Started sampling from websites. I never found my one but now have about 5 random bottles I rotate snd change. Everything from a $400 bottle to cheap stuff. It drives my wife nuts as I’m always looking for my next score or something different. So we are going on 13 yrs of the hobby and still posting on that website. You would be amazed at the money some of the people sink into this. Collectors with 100s, maybe 1000s of bottles on the far spectrum

Weird. I just got my first bottle of Cool Water after shave, on the advice of @Xelda . I've never worn cologne, but I'm considering getting it as well.

Good stuff! I don’t won’t to bore you with my geeky cologne knowledge after 13 yrs studying it but it is reformulated and a little different than it was in the 90s but it still smells good. I used to get a ton of compliments. I don’t own it anymore because I’m obsessed with other stuff but hope you enjoy it. My higher end stuff from a company called Creed is called Green Irish Tweed and it has a similar vibe to it

I'm more concerned about the ladies enjoying it, but thanks! :D

Honestly, and many won’t admit it, that’s why most are into it. I’m no collector. I just want to smell good. If my wife likes it, great! But if I get other compliments it can make a guy feel good :). I just chase my next new “best” one

Keep me updated if you find one that attracts beautiful, rich, funny, easy going, charitable women.

I used to ref basketball/volleyball. Did that for about 15 years or so. Life obligations changed so now I'm a personal Uber for a teenager.

I also like to read Harlequin and Urban romance smut. lololol

There is one that is really popular but WAY too expensive..even though it can be found on discount sites...Creed Aventus. There is an actual subforum on that site dedicated just to this cologne. People swear women flock to them. No joke. I’ve worn it but it I think it’s a little overrated especially for the money. On the designer end a lot of people love Acqua di Gio Profumo..new version of the old stuff. So if you like wearing the CW you could go grab something else. Just like here, on that board there are obnoxious people. Many of these guys can be pretty loud, sexist and offensive. They call these scents “pant droppers.”

I have adored fragrance all of my life. It's a great passion with endless possibilities. Are you talking about the web site Fragrantica? That's a good one and has helped me quite a bit. I should have used it before purchasing some of the things I did. I've got a travel sized scent of Creed in Royal Princess. She smells like she smokes ceegars and hocks up loogies in spittoons. When you said you had a $400 bottle of cologne, I knew Creed was involved. I like Tom Ford quite a bit, but didn't get any this time. I haven't done a final count, but I think I have 20 new bottles after Christmas.

I went through chemo a couple of years ago and I post on a wig web site. Can you believe I'm the Yosemite Sam on that site? They block half my comments or snipe in and post the opposite of what I had to say.

Awesome! Glad to see another drag head. Fragrantica is an awesome site snd honestly it is where I check most of my purchases for reviews. I have a sign in there but the site I frequent is Basenotes.. basenotes.net. That is where I do most of my discussing. I go back and forth between niche and designer. When I first started everything high end seemed to try too hard and the edgy stuff wasn’t my style. Creed does a good job of staying relevant but being high end. I own Green Irish Tweed but have owned/had large samples of most of the others. In fact I just finished some Aventus. I like Tom Ford. There are some other high end brands like Bond No 9, Amouage, Histoires de Parfum etc that I like but their scents are hit or miss. I want wearable and classy without being obnoxious. Even some designers like Bleu de Chanel, Dior Savage have taken on a life of their own. 20 is a pretty good number! What is your favorite? Right now I have 5....Burberry London(wedding/honeymoon fragrance so always in my group), Creed GIT, Histoires de Parfum 1899(better version of Spicebomb); Aramis Tobacco Reserve and this one I got in Italy that you can only get in a the shop it comes from in this one town...Stresa. I just can’t bring myself to go beyond that 5-7 range though I want more. I will just have to rotate more this year

Well sorry about the chemo but it sounds like you keep the crowd lively in that site!

Well, I'm a furry. It's easily my favourite hobby hehe. Though, that's not unknown here by any means. Though, that's only been since 2012. Still, it's my favourite one and the one I'm best known for.

My regular favorites are Tom Ford's Violet Blonde which I think is discontinued, oldies like Opium and Red, Harmony by Clean, Agent Provocateur's Maitresse, Replica's Lazy Sunday Morning and Jo Malone's Wood, Sage & Sea Salt. New favorites are Dubai Garnet by Bond No. 9 and Couture Couture by Juicy Couture. I got three by Lalique which seem so blended that a single note cannot be detected.
