Prediction...the Jags will win more playoff games than the Cowboys over the next 5 years.

na all the good young QBs are in the AFC. The Fossils in the NFC will eventually breakdown and allow us to win a few.

I’m supposed to be able to talk logically with someone who thinks “we had a shot in the NFC”

Who is steamrolling anyone in the NFC right now? Our chances would’ve been slim had we made the playoffs because of our defense and playing with a backup QB but with no dominant team there was a chance. Had Dak remained in the lineup we definitely had a chance. You want to move on from a talented young QB who’s improved every year and take your chances in the draft or free agency. How logical is that?

I'll wait and see........remember Chip Kelly or Steve Spurrier. Was a time when they too were the best thing since sliced bread. NFL is just as much about managing people as Xs and Os. Multi-millionaire grown men are night and day different from 18-20 yo college kids. Not saying he will fail but certainly not automatically crowning him with a Super Bowl.

-----The Fan Zone is turning into the NFL Zone. I don’t have an issue with it but if you’re going to allow NFL news that’s unrelated to the Cowboys in the Fan Zone then might as well do away with the NFL Zone. Just my opinion.

Other coaches and teams are much more interesting than ours....just a fact!

------Did Meyer want to come here? Probably not.

Yes he did....watch the Dan Patrick interview with Meyer, prior to Jerrah's hiring of Corky,

I think he will like not having to get no show jobs at the local car dealership for his players.

I don't know why, but I can't shake the feeling he'll bust in the NFL. Maybe it's because everything is laid out for him so perfectly, and he has history with quitting, that it just seems like a little adversity will be difficult for him to deal with

Successful college coaches who fell short in the NFL has happened back in the past.
Bud Wilkinson coached the OU Sooners to three national championships, and his program still holds the record for NCAA Division I consecutive wins at 47.
After a 14-year hiatus retiring from college football, Wilkinson became HC of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1978. The team went 6 -10 his first season, then 3 -10 in 1979 before Wilkinson was fired.

We’re 1-2 in the playoffs under Dak and you’re pinning those 2 losses squarely on him? In the 2016 playoffs he brought us back from a huge deficit against Aaron Rodgers to tie that game only to have our defense fold in the final seconds. You’re pinning that loss on Dak? He outplayed Jared Goff in the 2018 playoffs only to have our defense get gashed by two backs for over 200 yards on the ground. You’re pinning that loss on Dak? His one playoff win is against a future Hall of Fame QB. I’ll prove how clueless you are what do you suggest we do at QB? Don’t dodge the question. lol

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
He said on a pregame show that he would be interested in the Cowboys but Booger never responded. I think he expected a call after that.

One thing that is apparent, at least to me, is that Booger doesn't have much respect for coaches. Which is really strange since Frank Broyles was such an inspiration to him in his life. And Switzer really connected with both Booger and Johnson at AR.
Interesting. Is it arrogance by chance?

Urban Meyer, Trevor Lawrence, and a ton of cap room... is Jacksonville about to be relevant?

Almost $72M in cap room in a year with flat cap, Meyer has a real opportunity to improve quickly.

Plus, he's actually a good coach which I realize is a concept lost on all the McCarthy/Moore/Quinn shippers here.

Wow. I don't care if TL turns out to be a bust. I'm just jealous. I remember how awesome it was when the Dallas Cowboys hired the best college coach and drafted the best QB in college with the #1 pick in the draft. A very long time ago.

'Hawkeye' ...you're forgetting about Pete Carroll.
HC of Seattle Seahawks = Super Bowl XLVIII Champions --AND-- they should have gotten back-to-back NFL titles.
Since the 2010 season--Carroll's first as HC- Seattle has made the playoffs 9 --NINE - of the 11 seasons he has been at the helm.
Seven NFC West titles
Seven NFC Divisional round games
Two NFC Championships

But even more so to his success as a great coach:
Failed on his first two forays in the NFL as HC - Jets, Patriots.
But- how does the phrase goes: "Third time's a charm"
