We have the least QB concerns of those other teams on that list because at least we have a QB. Those other teams either don’t have a consistent QB or have an aging QB that’s nearing the end or have a young QB they’re not sure about. All we have to do is get our QB signed.
Houston?

They have Deshaun Watson I’m sure they’ll patch up whatever differences they have with him. After trading DeAndre Hopkins their fan base would throw in the towel on the organization if they traded Watson.

Most on that list of 17 do not for sure "need" a new QB.
There is just some uncertainty for various reasons.

But Jax, New Orleans, NY Jets, Indy, and a couple of others will either be grabbing one of the top QBs that could leave other teams or they'll be drafting on in the first round.

Yes. I was just replying to your statement that Dallas has the least concern of the teams on that list.
Houston is on that guy's list too.

I have heard rumblings that Houston might be interested in Tua and Miami may be up for trading him (and I assume high picks) for Watson.

Sorry I missed your point. Right, Houston and the Cowboys would have the least concerns a QB of the teams mentioned.

1. '...we have a QB.'
Technically - the Cowboys don't. Not under contract this off-season - a free agent.

Has not been an easy task....and how long has this been going on?

I was one of the skeptics but he could still develop into a good QB. He did have a winning QB record this season and a couple of 300 yard games. Tua was drafted one spot ahead of Herbert who had a terrific rookie season for the Chargers. Drafting QBs continues to be a crapshoot but some here seem to think drafting good ones is getting easier and easier. It’s not!
True. If it were easy, everyone would have a franchise quarterback.

Last report a week ago had him in the pool doing rehab because either they did not want him to put full weight on his foot or he couldn't put full weight on his foot. He is still on crutches from the last we heard. In this day of social media overload, we have yet to see any Dak rehab videos. I am guessing his agent said no video at all. I could be wrong and Dak may show a video tomorrow of him jogging.

It is speculation on my part from what little any of us have seen or heard. I seriously doubt he will be able to pass a physical at the beginning of FA in mid March. I would not bet money that Dak will be able to pass an NFL physical roughly a month later before the draft. Those are the two most important dates for team building and player signings. The healthy and bargain QBs will be picked over first by the league when FA begins. Maybe 8 teams will be drafting a QB in rounds 1 and 2 of the draft. Any team drafting a QB in round 1 or 2 probably has no interest in any high priced FA QBs left. That leaves few teams looking for a QB by the time Dak is healthy. And none of them left are spending $40M on a QB.

Are the Cowboys getting actual health reports from Dak's doctors? Don't know how that works and the privacy laws and the agents and contracts.

The video with Zeke although minimal shows he can put weight on his foot. My guess is he's doing zero gravity stuff because he needs to push cardio and stay in shape while not putting too much stress on his joints and associate ligaments and tendons just yet. Sounds pretty normal imo. The report also said he has been doing squats so that's a good sign.

Athletes usually have clauses that their health needs to be shared with the team. He's rehabbing at the team facility so I'm sure staff is there checking up on him. It's not like a regular avg joe. Their money investment and dependence on health probably demands it. If he isn't sharing with the team that's a red flag.

I'd bet the under on 8 qbs but maybe. Who knows. I'm optimistic due to reports and work ethic that he will be ready before the draft. It's anyone's guess.

Technically they do he’s not currently a free agent free to sign with anyone. He’s property of the Cowboys. When the time comes for him to be made available in free agency they’ll franchise him if they can’t strike a deal.

Prescott has had a superior team to Watson over the past 4 years and let's face it - Watson arguably endured even weaker coaching.
Realistically Watson couldn't have done much more especially this season given what's around him.
Have you watched the Texans O-Line over the past 4 years?
Did you watch the Texans offense the two years before Watson took over as QB?
In 2014 the Cowboys had the second highest performing QB during the regular season so the offense wasn't exactly struggling before Prescott joined and please don't even use 2015 given the washed up nonsense that played under centre with the exception of #9.

I'm not Watson's biggest fan but he's a very good QB.
Of course Watson is very good. So is Dak.

Bill O'Brien is a much better coach than Jason Garrett, btw.

When Miami benched Tua in the fourth quarter of a very close game and brought in Fitzpatrick to pull the game out it was obvious the Dolphins weren’t confident in him. A young QB needs a moment like that to develop and they didn’t give him the chance which says a lot for how they feel about him. I only saw highlights of Tua’s play and he appeared to have a very good game against Arizona at least statistically. Miami won that game. If these trade reports are true then it appears Miami is giving up on him. Can’t remember any team giving up on a QB they took in the top 5 after the rookie season.
Arizona Cardinals picked Josh Rosen no.10 overall in 2018, then traded him one year later (ironically to the Dolphins). Almost as big a miss.

Mistakes keep adding up when you’re desperate for a QB which is why you don’t let a QB go when you have a real good one. Miami should have kept Ryan Tannehill. He’s basically a bus driver but if you give him a good running game he can be efficient. While he’s been leading Tennessee to the playoffs the past 2 seasons the Dolphins have been sitting home.

-NO -PIT -IND -LAR -MIA? -CHI -NE -WASH -DAL? -SF -CAR -DEN -DET -PHI -HOU -NYJ -JAX?

Thats really a overblown list
NO-Hill
Pitt- Ben will come back for one more agonizing yr
Wash will keep Smith
Dallas is going to sign Dak
Phil - has Wentz cough cough and Hurts
Hou-Watson will not be going anywhere
Rams- Goff and there are a lot of players that fold in playoffs lol

Jets Jags Carolina Det NE are teams I could see going after a QB Maybe Denver? All these are teams that are in the top 15
I could see four QBs taken before us and ATL could very well take a QB with Ryan aging??
I dont think that the Jets will give up on their QB but they could If they were smart they would get him some help.

Lawrence, Fields Lance and Wilson will all go before our pick
Sewell, and Chase will go somewhere next. Then you have Waddle and Smith the Ala WR.
Though teams usually dont take a WR that high but Philly needs one bad.
That leaves
Surtain Farley Micha Rousseau Treveon Kwitty and Horn to choose from.
Plus keep in mind players will move up and down the boards after their pro day.
Since we are not having our Combine as we know it this year its really going to be hard to evaluate players.

Even the Raiiders kept Jumungous longer than that- though that was probably because of the Gravedigger still being above ground.

Well the Dolphins have the picks to do it. Not for other teams. I suppose it depends how high up they could draft. Just remembered that they have the #3 pick from Houston so they are in a great position. Depends how highly they evaluate the incoming QBs as the ideal scenario is to have a rookie QB contract to build around which could still be Tua if they believe in him. People forget that Watson has been playing with a trash OLine for the majority of his career in Houston yet has still played very well. His performances could arguably be upgraded
Just viewed a mock draft from Ryan Wilson, a CBS Sports writer. He has 5 QBs going in the top 10.
1. Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence
2, Jets - Zack Wilson
3. Panthers (trade with Dolphins) - Justin Fields
4. Falcons - Mac Jones
10. Steelers (trade with Cowboys) - Trey Lance

I don't see Miami moving on from their 3rd overall pick just yet. How many games has he started?

The Jets will probably pick another QB, move on from Darnold and he will have success on a better team. The new QB will look just like Darnold. The team is terrible. I remember a two game stretch where he was sacked like 12 times. Not coverage sacks either. He was seeing ghosts against the Patriots. Sacked 4 times and pressured all game. New week the Eagles sacked him 8 times.

Not sure how much better the Cardinals are for taking Murray. I would definitely say better but by how much is debatable. Yeah, he can run like Lamar Jackson but his accuracy is sometimes bad and sometimes atrocious.

I don't think Tua is the answer in Miami. It wouldn't surprise me if Miami drafted WR Devonta Smith at #3 and Mac Jones with their later 1st round pick.

Both the two top corners would give me hesitation to move back, they are off the board, get out of the draft slot.
Surtain is average speed-wise for a CB. He runs in the 4.5s. He got beat deep a few times during the SEC Championship Game, which is why I have doubts about him. For years, we have seen our CBs get beat deep against the fastest WRs in the league. Why should we draft another CB with average speed who can get beat deep?
