1) Caleb Farley: Tremendous upside and should still be able to come in as a starting caliber CB as a rookie

2) Alim McNeil: Good potential as both a run defender and pass rusher. Could rise higher. But right now this looks like a good spot

3)Jevon Holland: Sat his JR year out, but remains a strong FS prospect with good ball skills. Could go higher, but early 3rd looks like a solid projection for him right now.

Comp 3) Payton Turner. Good size and raw tools. Has flexibility to play inside and outside. Tons of upside, could be developed into a future Lawrence replacement in a few years

Love top 2, but worry about Holland's lack of speed on the NFL Level, might be more of a nickel CB.

Def gonna need to see his 40 times and official height/weight.
Tape is all a year old.

I do like that he was a high 4 star Cali HS WR but he was only 170 pounds back then.

I think Holland is an interesting prospect. I know there are questions about his speed but he doesn’t look like a 4.7 guy on tape. If there is a pro-day that’s where we’ll get to see his speed and athleticism. He has the tape, and running in the 4.5 range would put him in the discussion in the 2nd round.

This is a AWESOME draft!!!!

Holland is an instinctive player, so, even if he ran a 4.6, he always ends up where he needs to. Just like Justin Simmons (who also ran a 4.6). INSTINCTS MAKE YOU FASTER!!!!!

Like the mock. Alim is my favorite DT, so cool. I'm still in the Farley or Surtain decision process, but either is an upgrade. Holland was on my radar early, and I really like Safeties who can field and return punts...those guys tend to play the ball and make impact plays.

I’d be ok with this draft though we need impact LB .

I’d rather trade down to 16-18 and take Collins and then take Tyson Campbell (CB) with that extra rd 2 pick

With that comp 3rd I’m taking Tyler Shelvin (DT) to shore up the DL

so that would look like

Zaven Collins
Alim McNeill
Tyson Campbell
Jevon Holland
Tyler Shelvin

I think Surtain is most likely to be gone at 10

You draft McNeil and Shelvin isnt necessary. McNeil is your run down 1T day 1

good draft

Not sure if Holland falls to the 3rd but I'd consider this a homerun.

Glad to see someone loves McNeil as much as I do.

Stong possibility he is a 2nd rounder. I felt safe mocking him where I did because we are relatively early in the third and his measureables are probably not going to be top tier.

I don't know what he's going to run but he looks pretty smooth on tape and has + ball skills.

He'll get the benefit of inflated pro day numbers lol.

That's true. I am also wondering if teams worry a bit about players that chose to sit out in terms of their readiness. It will be over a year and a half in between games

I'm not so sure on that. Farley is the higher ceiling prospect. Surtain should be there for us.
You could be right, and its difficult to project. Right now most sources have Surtain higher and he is looking at as a player who can offer more immediately than Farley. However teams have coaching staffs for a reason, and often they pick upside over immediate contributions. Either player is a win for us IMO. IIRC Bruger had them both ranked in the top 5

I thought about it some more, and one thing to consider is, does the lack of combine mean scouts trust tape over time? Even though he has amazing tape, Farley opted out of the year but he won't have the opportunity this year to prove his athleticism in offseason workouts. Possible that teams skew towards proven players this draft...

I think the biggest loss is going to be the mass data. All the workouts they would do at the combine a team can do during visits. However you only have so many of them. So you dont have that database of combine info
