Gregory, Lawrence, Gallimore, Diggs and Wilson the only defenders worth a damn
Hopefully we can get one of Jaylon or LVE to return to form in the scheme that they showed out in. I’m betting it’s LVE if I had to pick,

Sign 2 vet FA starters and draft 3/4 starters/contributors and we can go from bad to average-solid in one offseason.

I would say 'career year' was going to be a given considering he's only played in 38 games in his entire career. 96 total games he would have been eligible for had he not screwed up like he did. He's spent almost 2/3 of his career on one suspension or another.

On another note, maybe PFF should do their research, because Gregory actually had a better season stat wise in 2018.

Gregory will certainly get much more time to develop than what he got from fired DL coach Tomsula.
Yes previous off field issues over the years caused him that less amount of development time.

But he also doesn’t have the wear- tear toll with many players with his amount of years - per suspension.
He’s our most athletic and physically gifted edge rusher. And he’s surprisingly adequate run defender than given credit for.

- But I’d still like to keep him as fresh as possible going into 4th and final quarter.
’d like to have a qualified DE gaining just enough snaps “ behind’ Gregory to better preserve him throughout games, and throughout entire year

- As of right now we have questionable backups as Bradley Anae will basically be a rookie by lack of experience again thanks to Tomsula's incompetence.
And despite Jerry trying to vouch and market Dorace Armstrong, that guy is JAG. A try hard guy just doesn’t impact the game even in a rotation guy.
I dunno what to make of Rondell Carter. we'll have to see what Quinn thinks of him vs previous coaching staff.

I get the sense that management wants our previous defensive staff to fully invest in Gregory – and giving him just 20% of snaps including just 13 snaps vs Ravens did not
go over well with management. And who knows what other kind of pet peeves and under impressions they had with Tomsula, who knows if Quinn himself had
preferred a total change in coaching and different direction among the DL unit. o_O

It's a shame he couldn't play because of nonsense. I wonder what could've happened if he had gotten more than 2 games in 2016.
Rules, regulations, mores, laws, etc. -- they get stricken, removed, changed, and amended as civilization and society advance with time.
Water under the bridge.
