Eagles new coach looks like an idiot at press conf

I don't know what to think. I'm not for criticizing anyone before we get a chance to see what they can do. But as far as the Eagles go, how many times have they been the the NFC Championship game since 1995? Four or five times? Chances are they get there again before us.

Why do I keep hearing about how obsessed Eagles fans are with us yet I keep reading about the Eagles? Who cares how he sounded? Results are all that matters. McCarthy sounds and looks like an idiot trying to defend his decisions in press conferences and by smashing watermelons...

Dallas has not gone to the Super Bowl in OVER 25 years....and you criticize the Eagles new HC when he has yet to coach a game for the Eagles all while the Eagles have been to more NFC Championships and Super Bowls than Dallas has in OVER 25 years???????

Good luck with that criticism.

H-m-m, he wants smart players, yet intends to simplify the system for these smart players' talents to take over -- sounds like he's contradicting himself.

If the players are so smart, there shouldn't be any need to simplify the system! I've seen comments by media observers who were questioning his level of intelligence. I think I'm beginning to understand why they had that impression. Maybe he knows what he's talking about but it does seem fairly likely that nobody else does.

Those pissed at Mike McCarthy, listen to this guy and HOU's new HC. McC starts to look a lot better.

I do agree with his first step of being smart, you have to know what to do. Many people don't know what to do. I wonder if he knows how to tell them what to do because if they're not smart, they could just be standing around for the next 9 months. They don't know what to do so they do nothing.

The Dallas Cowboys motto for the last 25 years: at least we're not the worst.

LOL -- that seems a scary thought! Neither we, nor the Eagles set the world on fire in 2020.

McCarthy hadn't actually made an especially positive impression last year!
Maybe they'll have a contest to see who's dumbest? :muttley:

Or "Hey, we know what to do, we're just not very good at doing it".

The Cowboys are the only franchise in the NFL where players feel they've arrived just by arriving. Where else do you get a DE coming up with some goofy nickname for a very average DL? Got a MLB with a signature swipe after tackling a runner for an 8 yard gain.

It's not all their fault either. Think Parcells would have had to use that "put away the anointing oil" line at any other stop in his career?

The Dallas Cowboys have a perception problem. They are perceived by too many to be much better than they really are. How is this team the number one TV draw? I just don't get it. Talk about Cowboys Mystique.
