It's less about the scheme and more about the fact that they hit on every FA acquisition over the last couple of years. We wiffed on every one.

We did hit on Quinn, but yes you are correct. That’s all on McClay. That’s his job.

No doubt TB defense played an outstanding game. DL was able to apply the pressure and the TB secondary did an excellent job in their zones coverages. Even if the TE or WR made the catch they were brought down immediately, Hill was a non factor. I'm not overly shocked that TB won the game but what did come as a shock was KC was unable to put up a single TD in that game. If there was a betting line on KC not being able to score a TD those odds would have been very long.

Just read a tweet reminding us that Bowles's defense also shut down Brees AND Rogers......w/o a bunch of highly paid superstars. Pretty impressive.....

Brees stinks and Bakhtiari was also hurt...so no, it's not that impressive. It's not like Rodgers struggled all that much anyway.

the old adage that defense wins championships is still true. We saw 1000% confirmation of this fact Sunday night. The most explosive fast break offense maybe EVER in the NFL was completely shut down nd dominated ...not 1 TD. The Tampa D is really what put the team in position to win the last several weeks. Sunday was the culmination of this.

it never fails every year at SB time. the team that plays the best D, stops the run, runs the ball well, is balanced, WINS. Football is very simple. The teams that get cute and complicate matters are only flashes in the pan.

Uh this isn't shocking.
TB hit on their DRAFT PICKS, added expensive free agents, pushed cards to center to go win it all now.

It paid off but they won't be the same team next year.

Lavonte David, Shaq Barrett and Suh are all free agents. That's 3 of the elite front 7.

my guess is Suh will move on and they will find a way to keep the others.

Tom Brady wins championships..

The defense is getting too much credit.. They most likely don’t make the playoffs if Winston is their QB..

turns out the draft matters eh? lol..and as you pointed out, so does free agency. Jerry still hasnt received that memo. Offense may get you far and sell tickets, but defense gets you over the top. Its been proven over and over again year after year at each SB, without fail.

Defense wins.

Always been true, always will be, no matter how we try to pretend otherwise.

High scoring offenses with big stats work in September. They mean almost nothing in January.

Championship quarterbacks typically have champioship defenses come playoff time.

OMG..yes on Tom...but too much credit for the d? YOUR NUTS! Did you not see what they did to Mahomes all game? EVEN ON SHORT FIELDS! Come on now. They beat him like a piñata. Lets give credit where its due.

This statement will not be popular here but I would have no trouble with an OT or Pitts at #10 and Creed Humphrey in round 2. But in that scenario I would want to see us get ONE good free agent 1 Tech. (Tomlinson or someone like him).

You can get defenders in the 3rd and 4th (4 players total) That might be a NT, A safety, and a linebacker in any order plus whatever double up you want on the defense with that other 4th round pick.

I would NOT take a defender at #10, but that becomes more of an option in round one with a trade back or two.

Did the defense play good? Sure..

But that team and defense is nothing without Brady.. Not even spoken about.

If you have an elite QB they can make can carry a lot of defenses with them on their way to a ring.

All you need is a solid defense.. Like Tampa..
