Should the Cowboys feel forced to reach for a defender with the 10th pick?

Id take Chase at 10 in a heartbeat. Not a big need, but the talent is too high to pass on.

Either you pass on Gallup’s 2nd contract or you can think about moving Cooper.
In that case you would trade a WR before the 11th pick lol

Not at all. You ride out 1 season with Gallup and I think he’s a FA after next season.

The team could also start shopping Coop after the pick if that’s the route they wanted to go.

I don’t think it happens
But if it did I’d trade Gallup
He has good value and if traded after the draft could easily get you a future second
But I think most likely it won’t be a WR at 10
They will extend Gallup and the future would be Gallup, lamb and another rookie maybe drafted next year or a guy developing into the 3rd WR

That's fine...but Gallup is likely going to demand a pretty large contract to extend him (around 6-8 mil per year).

With the high draft pick invested in Lamb I wouldn't be surprised if they decided not to extend him and go a cheaper route.

Shultz is probably tradeable for a mid rounder. Rookie deal, 60 catch season.

One year left on his rookie deal, and TE's never seem to have trade value. However I still think you could get a refund of his original pick if you wanted to move him

Im trading Jar before I’m trading Schultz. Jar has never done anything in this league.

That’s possible but he is an important part of the offense and I’d try to keep him and move on from Cooper in the next year or so before Gallup actually got expensive and you have 4 more cheap years with Lamb

If you get the 10th pick and you feel you absolutely must take a defensive player (which I would argue is already a mistake) but there are none left worth that pick, you absolutely must trade down.

The way the board is looking right now, one of Parsons, Farley or Surtain should be there at #10.There's like 5 teams minimum in front of us that need QBs, and some really monster talents on offense like Sewell, Chase and Pitts that will get teams' attention. I'm feeling optimistic.

I don't want a receiver like Pitts or Chase. Both of them are going to be monsters, but spending our '19, '20, and '21 first rounders all on receivers makes us the Dallas Lions.

Slater, you can definitely talk me into. Sewell, done. I'd take him over any of the 3 defenders. Darrisaw... ehhhh. If we picked him, I'd get it, but there's 5 or 6 other guys I'd rather draft instead.
