Does Dak Being the Best QB in the Division Factor Into Your Decision to Sign Him?

At this point in time, it is pretty clear Dak Prescott is far and away the best QB in the division. When you have the QB1 in a division, you have a significant advantage as long as the rest of your team/coaching is competent.

Based on the recent history of all these other NFC East teams at QB, there shouldn’t be overwhelming confidence that a player better than Dak leads any of these other franchises. Daniel Jones is meh, Hurts/6th overall pick is meh, and Rivera is too conservative to pull the trigger on a big deal so it’s FA or 19th overall; meh.

Assuming Dak’s health checks out, does being the best QB in the division make you more comfortable with a 40M price tag?

Doesn't matter. At the end of the day you play the division 6 times. 6 Easy wins is nothing to sneeze at.

Plus I just don’t see any of the other teams making a move to get a player of Dak’s caliber soon. Giants are locked in with Danny, the Eagles are in a downward spiral, and Wash is stuck in no mans land.

I see a 2-3 year window with the best QB in the division. That’s a lot of wins and home games in the playoffs. Gives us a great chance of making a run.

Not necessarily. Washington can get Matt Ryan if ATL takes a qb which they should.................unless Fields goes 3rd. If Lance is the only qb left I dont see them trading Ryan. I think they would trade him if they got Fields though

And we cant say that. 3 of the 4 teams, including Dallas, dont have returning starters signed for 2021. Both Philly and Washington could draft well or sign/trade for a good QB. We'll have to wait and see.

I could see that as well but those cap numbers are brutal. They’re on record saying Matt and Julio are back for at least one more season but who knows.

Still, I think Washington is too conservative with Rivera and Hurney to go trade a 1 and 3 for Ryan. Bears are 10 times more desperate and will definitely be in on that.

Is this a trick question? No...of course not! A lot of you Dak fans are counting your chickens before they hatch. Dak may never be the same again and you fans of his are still trying to justify paying him BIG TIME.

Dak or no Dak this team isn't going anywhere any time soon, but the confidence some have that Jerry and Stephen would easily pick a winner in the draft cracks me up.

You also cannot assume the QB situation is going to continue to be what it is now. I will be surprised if PHL and WFT stand pat with what they have. Snyder is the wild card as he knows he has a contender D and a good QB can put him in the NFCCG.

Know what this makes me think about doing? I'd let Prescott walk, re up Dalton and spend that money on the D along with taking a QB in this draft. This is a good time not to be spending 40M on a QB on a team that is 14-18 the last two seasons.

Yeah, the problem here is that the best QB in this division is based on the best OL and personnel around them. This idea that Dak is the best is temporary at best IMO. The team that can free up resources and improve personnel will be the team with the best QB because they will be the most successful. That's how I see it.

Everyone thinks WFT does not have a QB but look out for Taylor Heinicke they just re-signed. Dudes a gamer.
