Aldon Smith or Von Miller???

With Von being possibly let go by the Broncos, do you pursue him or Aldon?

I think we need to do something at DL before the draft. We certainly don't want to be forced into taking a position.

I've wanted Von Miller to come here for a while. I'm not sure what his legal status is, or what his injury status is....That will certainly have to check out.

Aldon Smith will probably be cheaper. At the very least, he can be an excellent rotational guy.

One costs 2 mil the other costs 20m
Von isn't getting 20 as a 32 y.o. pass rusher who didn't play last year and declined sharply in production the year before that. Especially in a deflated market.

It all depends. How much for one vs the other. Health of Von Miller? That police arrest with Von Miller. How much money is left after signing Dak to 6-years $300M (or is it 8-year $450M now? Need to ask the ‘church of Dak’ what the ‘market rate’ is now).

Assuming all things are good and equal salaries, I think everyone would choose Von Miller.

Guys, Gregory is the guy. He's going to start at LEO. The next guy is going to have to be reasonable. May not be either one of those guys.
Gregory is a great rotation guy, and would be tough to fully trust him on that side. Miller is a beast but with his sitch and injury and salary is he worth it? And Aldon ain’t a spring chicken but was good on other side of tank. But where will his salary be? Good feedback so far, y’all!

Miller and it's not even close lol

Miller has played for all 10 years of his career and has a lot more wear and tear on his body, much closer to the end of his career than Smith who has FAR less wear and tear on his body and would be cheaper to resign. Miller is a LB, Smith is a DE. There's not going to be a ton of cap space to go out and sign all the players the people here think the Cowboys should sign.

That's exactly why it's going to be Gregory. Gregory is coming up on a contract year in 2022. The Cowboys will have to make a decision on him this year, as to sign him long term or not. If he shows well this year, I would not be surprised to see the team try and extend him early, like mid season. So he's going to be the starter and he's going to get every single chance to show what he can do. The guy we sign, he will likely be cheap and fill the rotational role. Ideally, the team would like to see that be Armstrong but I think we will still sign a guy but I doubt it's a big name guy. I think we will probably draft somebody as well.

Maybe yes with Von if we can somehow bring Demarcus Ware out of retirement.
What a great motivator that would be.
