I wonder if there's something there where they can restructure him early and add a year. If first year is 23mil, that's 17mil over 3 years where the aav is 40.

SO, the Jones gang bent over on the 4 years deal...as we all knew they would. Wonder if there was any concession on Dak's side. Maybe less guaranteed. Maybe last year is big money that he won't see. Hopefully first year cap hit under 30m. Now that you have spent on the QB, you gotta restructure the deals that make sense, like Tank, Martin, Cooper and Collins, cut the dead weight like Jones...and spend on some free agents that will elevate the defense.

yes and no, he got his 5th year at least last season

Andy Dalton or a rookie weren't going to do that. Russell Wilson was never coming here. And if Dallas didn't give Dak his money another team would have.

This is the reality of the situation. Is Dak overpaid? Yes. And so is just about every other player in the NFL.
I'd rather overpay another player that isn't 9-11 with 1 win over a playoff team in the past two seasons.

The trolls are very happy- they have something to complain about and somebody to blame for every loss over the next four years.

Of course, if Dallas went out and got a new quarterback, it'd be the same thing once the honeymoon ended.

Yeah, but guaranteed money changes that AAV by the time it comes to the tail end.
Contracts are never as simple as raw numbers, especially when things can get changed year by year, but you go after him.
Have at it. Not my fight. I already spent more attention than I usually do, but this is entertaining.

Enjoy the excitement!

Oh, no fight. Just ribbing a little.
I'm actually glad it's finally over.
I'll cheer Dak on every week.
Hope it works out.

This team hasn’t won since 1995. What’s wrong with you people?
There you go the team hasn’t won . That’s nothing to do with Prescott. You don’t know what it means to be a winner on and off the field.

Love Dak but that ankle, bad sign by the Cowboys at this time another one year wait and see franchise tag would have been the way to go.

It's kinda sad that so many people are happy for a rich guy becoming more rich while basically destroying their favorite teams chances of truly competing in the playoffs.

when have they use money to compete for playoffs, this aint nothing new

i like Dak and good for him - but I'm surprised a destroyed ankle can get you a deal like this...he was already not fleet of foot. i would have thought injury discount or wait and see.

(I've not been in this forum in a long time so apologies if this has been rehashed thousands of times)

Patrick Mahomes is still the highest paid player in NFL history.
talking year to year at this point even 2nd is ridiculous for dak, sorry i like him glad hes with the team but monetarily vs skillset and results he far overpaid..
