t's a four-year deal worth at least $160 million and a league-record signing bonus over $60 million.

league record mean anything his AAV for at least season makes him highest paid..
We’d better make the playoffs every year or he’ll be the highest-paid loser QB ever.

First year base is super cheap! We’re going shopping in ... a few weeks for some new blood

Has a lot to do with it. Owner is still here in which you don’t have a clue about it due to your emotions.
I have been a fan of this team this franchise before Roger Staubach I know who owns and runs the team. And I also understand why we win or lose games. Emotions yes that’s what the NFL is emotional.

So Dak's 2021 cap hit is $25.5 million; meaning Dallas actually gains $12.2 million of cap space by not tagging him.

You have to be happy about this.

We should be, but some won't. What the first year allows is for the team to use any restructures to make any changes they want to the team. Obviously, the Joneses aren't going to be big spenders in free agency because they never are, but the ability is there to create as much space as needed to build a defense that could support this offense.

Obviously, there are some who believe that restructures are the devil, so they will think we've ruined any chance we have of improving.

If the cap keeps going up like they said it will, this is gonna be a good deal. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are both due for contracts next.

That’s a lot of keesh for a guy coming off a broken ankle. They must be confident he’s going to return to 100%. Otherwise it’s a terrible contract.

Happy for Dak though. He’s a good guy and a great leader. Hope it turns out to be the right move. Now let’s go win some football games.

The Cowboys wanted to sign Prescott for 5 years last year. They franchised him for $31.4 million and then paid him $40 million for 4 years. Basically, the same as signing him last year for 5 years at $38.28 million per year if you average it out. I think that is reasonable for a franchise QB.

I bet once we get the details. There will be voidable years on the back end. To spread that cap hit out a bit.
I would guess there are lots of built in restructures, like all their recent contracts, so they can keep pushing money forward if he’s performing at a high level. No trade and no tag clauses are a sign Dak wants his entire career here, so I’m sure it’s set up to benefit the team as long as he’s the man. If they turn on him, it will cost them, but so did the contracts of Goff, Wentz, and Wilson.

Wut ?!?!? Citation needed.
You don’t understand what it means to be a winner off the field. Just because you might not win a football game doesn’t mean you’re a loser or a winner. It’s attitude it’s the way you handle yourself confidence. Have you never played a team sport. You win the game in the locker room before the game even starts
