-Best QB in the division
-Best running back core in the division
-Best WRs in the division
-2nd best TE core in the division
-Best O line in the division
-3rd best Dline in the division
-2nd best LB core in the division
-Worst secondary ever

If they can fix the secondary this team will dominate this division for a long time.

3rd best DL in the division doesn't say much. its 4 teams. the otherway to look at is is we are almost in last place in the division...

our LB group sucks.

our defense was horrid....horrid. horrid. not only last in the divisin, bottom feeders in the NFL.

we have the offense. not the defense...until we fix the defense, who wins the divisin each year is up in the air.

So what! That shouldn't be a goal anyway, it should be a given. Dominate the damn Conference!
Job 1 is always win the division.
That's how you make the playoffs and why the Dallas Cowboys became America's Team.17 straight playoff seasons.
Somewhere along the way fans became infantile children and started SB or bust nonsense but Coaches have always steered to win the division as goal 1.
You get to the playoffs then you take things game by game.
So it matters quite a lot.

If Dallas was in the NFCW how they handle the next few years would need to be very different.
You saw SEA go ALL IN and it's near a miserable rebuild only a year later after they failed in that super bowl or bust plan because the division is the best in football.

Well it's happened before, but recently we know that no team in the East has even won the division two years in a row, let alone for the "foreseeable" future (and what is that anyway? Two years? Three? Ten?)

Looking back, even in the glory days of the 60's - 70's and 90's Cowboys, the best they have ever done is 5 in a row, and 6 of 7, twice. (If I counted correctly).

But that's good enough for me if they can do it again. However, those 5 year streaks were pre-cap. Don't see it happening again with the current structure of the league. Maybe 3 in a row at best...

I find all the "if Washington can just get a QB" comments entertaining. They've been trying to do that for the better part of 2 decades. They had a great year from RGIII and some small stretches of solid enough play from Cousins, but it's been a perpetual churn otherwise. Does winning the division at 7-9 go down in some list of accomplishments (especially when Philly threw the final game to hand them the playoff spot)? Finding a QB is one of the harder things to do in sports. The Browns took roughly a gazillion swings and kept missing. Dallas spent a long number of years with the failed baseball team. Peyton Manning isn't walking into DC this year at the end of his prime years. They might strike Dak type gold, but it won't be with one of the top 10 picks unless there's a big trade up. If they just get a QB ranks up there with "Other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln?"

This is as homer a post as I have seen in a while. I dont agree with half of what you have up there.

Commanders get a QB and their defense will snuff out all that irrational exuberance some have. Dallas is not lock to win anything.
To many guys with long term injuries and to many guys not performing up to contracts.

Poof!!!! They get a QB!!!!

The challenge for the Cowboys to become what we’ve wanted them to be for so long- to really compete for a championship- will hinge on whether or not we can build a defense that can be effective in the playoffs. We haven’t had that kind of defense in a long time.

I’m excited that we have the best offensive core in the NFC East. But that’s only half the equation. If we want to be better than just an occasional playoff participant, we MUST fix this defense.

right they made that point on sports talk yesterday, the goal is no longer the division, it has to be the NFCCG at bottom goal, thats the expectation on daks shoulders now , well his ankle..LOL the division will get better so its not a given. I do believe not just as fan we win that division last year without all the injuries', we should be the fave now but that doesnt get handed to you..

to the OP how do you know WFT doesnt pull off a shocking late trade for Wilson, Watson, or Rogers all whom most likely stay put but all were open to being traded..whos the favorite then? things change quickly in sports, paper champions seldom win..

I’d say the skins are better postured than we are. Best DL in the league almost all on rookie contracts. They also have the best coach by far in the division and are a competent QB away from owning it. I expect them to make a big move for a QB soon either in FA or draft. And their backup QB is pretty good too, I wouldn’t sleep on him.
I love how people say this. "Except for QB" means they don't have anything.

And the luxury of the cheap DL is pretty much expired. Allen is making $10m on his fifth-year option this year, Payne's fifth-year option is $8.5m next year, Sweat and Ionnaidis are up after next season.

We got one in the 4th round. Brady was late in the draft. They only need a bus driver to beat us.

Poof, they get a Dak!!............Poof they get a Brady!!!

Maybe they can sign your hero Dalton!!:muttley:

Lol, context matters. Those players don't help when they aren't playing. Let's go DAK!

Always an excuse.....oh, and by the way here are the games played in 2019:

Dak 16 games
Zeke 16 games
Cooper 16 games
T. Smith 13 games
Collins 15 games
Martin 16 games
Witten 16 games
DLaw 16 games
J. Smith 16 games
LVE 9 games

So outside of LVE there were not many games missed by the primary guys.....so sorry but your excuse is invalidated.

Someone drank Jerry’s coolaid after the signing!
Same story, different year. Just wait until after the first FA signing, then the Super Bowl chatter will start (not including Irvin already predicting the Cowboys in the SB this year).

You finally nailed it. There is always an excuse. Jerry can never field a team good enough.

Nobody on here has talked about SB in a long time. Another desperate claim by a cry baby troll that cant stop wetting his pants over Dak signing long term. :yourock::yourock::yourock:
