If I have to take a defensive player at 10, I'm taking Surtain. He's the most consistent, and I have no doubt he's going to be a consummate pro. I simply don't think Parsons is a good fit for this team, and I'm concerned by Farley's injuries. But he seems the most talented among the defensive players.

However, with Dak being signed, it's going to be either an OT or Pitts.

They just restructured Collins and Smith. I don't see an OT. I *hope* not Pitts.

With Surtain, Diggs, Wilson we will have a great young secondary for the next 5 years. I would suggest signing a veteran safety to lead the group and bring it all together. Then you can focus the rest of the draft and next year rebuilding the Linebackers and Dline.

Biggest need in FA, I would say is that big DT that can pressure up the middle and stuff the run.

OT’s talent is deep this year so I’m going defense in the first 2 rounds then get the best offensive lineman available in the 3rd.

But in all honesty, it’s way too early for these “if you were the GM” threads concerning the draft. What the Cowboys do in free agency will dictate what they do in the draft. So lets wait until free agency has run it’s course before these “what if draft” threads.

Because he's the sure bet. The CB isn't. You can get a safety in the 2nd. Look, I wouldn't be upset if they didn't. We have two pretty good TEs now. But Pitts would put our offense off the charts.

Drafting BPA is something no sane GM worth a grain of salt would do, and always leads to failure.

No, you can't spend early first round picks on BPA. What if a QB is BPA? Take him to sit behind Dak for the next 5 years? If a WR is BPA, take him? and be the Lions, 2003-2005?

Pitts is basically a tall, slow WR. If we take Pitts, we're the Lions 2003-2005, taking Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, and Mike Williams with their firsts.
2019 - 1st to Oakland for Cooper.
2020 - 1st for Lamb.
2021 - 1st for Pitts?
