Traded with Jags 10th for 25 and 33
Traded with Jets 178 for 180 and 238

25. Trevon Moehrig - S TCU
Starting FS day 1 - BIG Need!

33. Zaven Collins - LB Tulsa
Starting LB day 1 - Jaylon replacement next year if he doesn't improve.

44. Daviyon Nixon - DT Iowa
Starting DT day 1 - disruptive force up the middle.

75. Ronnie Perkinds - DE OK (probably not likely)
Gregory back up - gives you flexibility in either Gregory leaving as FA or Tank release next year

99. Davis Mills - QB Stanford
Dak back up QB - could develop and be trade bait.

115. Bobby Brown - DT Tx AM
Run anchor for Dline - can rush as well

138. Caden Sterns - S Tx
Possible SS if Wilson struggles - can play both SS and FS

180. Frank Darby - WR Az St
5ht WR - replacement for Gallup if he leaves via FA next year.

191. Paris Ford - S Pitt (triple dip with S - gotta get this right eventually)
More of a SS than FS - sorta on the lines of Wilson now. Was good value at position.

225. Paddy Fisher - LB Northwestern
More of a run stuffing LB and we all know that is an area of improvement needed for Dallas.

236. Shaun Jolly - CB Ap St
Probably should have drafted another CB earlier, but board didn't fall that way. In this scenario Cheeto is resigned and another CB in FA.

238. Khyiris Tonga - DT BYU (another triple dip in an effort to shore up Dline)
Run stuffing DT - plays aggressive

This draft would shore up S/DT/QB/LB.
CB would be a must in FA...which I'm ok with as rookies tend to struggle in the leap to the NFL.

The first three are home runs! Switch out your other safeties for DB’s and it looks better.

Good draft, two starters and five that could be starters.

Moehrig day one starter
Collins would see the field early and eventually start
Nixon would be a nice pick and could become a starter

Like the effort, and thought,, it would be an epic wake up call for sure.
We are drafting to replace all lazy no shows... lol

Maybe pickup an OL instead of a QB at 99? Overall, i wouldnt complain about this draft. Definitely addresses needs on defense.

I'd really like that fist trade down.
A lot of talent between 25 and 44 and you detail here with really good selections.
Moehrig, Collins and Nixon are all my fave player at those positions!!!
So to me this is an A draft for sure.

So why not A+:
The arguments:
I absolutely do not get the 2nd trade. I don't need more picks and especially not bottom of draft ones.
I think the 3 safety thing details the silliness you run into with 12 picks.
I would have taken an OL, RB or another CB over a shot in dark QB that early.
It feels criminal with the depth of this OL class not to get one in the top 4 rounds.
12 picks and can see 3 outright cuts with another 2 on the PS, the QB at best inactive all year.

Using same site and finding essentially the same trade option:

25: CB Melinfonwu --CB2 day 1.
33: LB Zeven Collins --Starting Mike, move Jaylon back to Will. LVE to nickel/back up duty.
44: FS Richie Grant --starting FS, single high
56: **offered bevy of picks led by 75 to move up starting at pick 46 and finally landed here.
3T Daviyon Nixon --nickel pass rusher
99: Edge Patrick Jones --nickel pass rusher
138: OT Jaylon Moore --last OT on roster year 1 but higher ceiling than Steele or Knight.
178: WR Frank Darby --good developmental WR. deep threat guy with limited athleticism to win in short areas, great team guy with good character. X only who could back up Gallup.
225: RB Rakeem Boyd --good vision and tough runner who would be best used as a 3rd RB. Has lined up in slot and split out to create mismatches so he understands the offense in Dallas.
236: DT Mustafa Johnson --good pass rusher with a motor. solid pass rush depth option. could even rush some as a big SDE in Quinn's system.

Nice draft. One thing:

Stearns is absolutely not a strong safety in a one high look. Hes atrocious against the run and often unwilling to fill. He's strictly a cover/single high safety.
