Fitz is always amazing for like 4 or 5 games, then he turns into a pick machine, and gets benched for a young guy. WFT starts 3-0, then loses 3 straight, and the Heineke Era will begin (and then end a few months later).
Heineke came closer to beating the Bucs than Brees, Rodgers or Mahomes. Just saying.

They have a solid football team already. Much better built than our current team.

So you add a solid QB to that and you got a good chance to do something.

The thing about Fitzpatrick is when he is on he is ridiculously good.

So if he can just game manage and be Fitzmagic every now and then they will be a tough opponent.

The big question is “if he can game manage”.

usually he is either fitzmagic or he is throwing 3-4 picks.

If Rivera can rein him in a bit and get him to just hand the ball off and not do anything stupid. They’ll be a tough team to beat.

If you look up inconsistency in the dictionary, Fitz's photo is there.

Hard to see him playing well an entire season, since he's never really done that before, and after being on EIGHT other teams, if he's that good he'd have done better. He's played all 16 games only 3 times in his 13 seasons in the league where he started a measurable amount of games, only had a winning record twice, a 10-6 one time and the other he was 4-3.

Could he catch fire with Wash? It's possible, Rivera is a very good coach, but to those who posted here how Wash will win the division, Fitz is the best qb in the East, etc., the support for that view just isn't there...

And with their Dline I think that team wins the division.

No repeat winners since 2003 in the East

Fitzpatrick has never made / went to the playoffs.

Odds are against them. People are acting like they traded for Russ or Mahomes here lol

In the dictionary beside the word "Retread" is a picture of this man. He's just good enough to hang on to the dream. God speed.

Fitz is an interesting player, one game he looks like a future hall of fame and then the next he's getting benched. Sometimes that happens all in the same game. 9th team over his career, thats pretty remarkable, lol.

Fitz is a solid signing for them though and will likely be looking to draft someone as well. It's a fairly deep 1st round of QBs.

Fitzmagic brings a lot more than his on field play. He is the #1 QB in the NFL to have in a QB room in terms of helping ALL the QBs on the roster. This is why he is still in demand and still getting offered good money in spite of his age and physical limitations. Ive been advocating him coming to Dallas for years. The ideal #2 QB, who can start occasionally.

He does add a lot of knowledge and experience to an NFL room, and for a week or two he will make some splash plays, but he will more often have games where he looks like an NFL rookie. He is too inconsistent and has been for the majority of his career. He is a good backup, but if he is expected to be the starter, then I see another 6 or 7 win season in Washington.

Please!
  1. How often will he be Fitzmagic vs Fitztragic, TDs vs INTs
  2. Will they protect him as well as Miami did last year
  3. Who is he going to pass the ball to
  4. It’s a good move, but I don’t fear him

Damit. Now were gonna watch as a 10 million dollar QB with almost no legit weapons have just as good a year as a 40 million dollar QB with weapons galore.

Agreed. We should be happy this is their guy. While it makes them a formidable challenge he can also self destruct. There is a reason he's a journeyman. In any event you have to respect him and the offense has some nice weapons, combined with a top flight defense. They are our biggest challenge for the division.

All said we are fortunate they went this route, because Russ Wilson or Dwatson would make them contenders.

Let's not pretend they beat us with anyone more than our JV team playing. Give us a healthy Dak and at least one of our starting tackles and it's a different ball game.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has had an amazing career. There are points where he sucks to high heaven and there are points when he looks like Joe Montana. Guy has played everywhere. Another nice short term deal for him. When you piece it all together the guy will have lived in a bunch of cities, put up decent numbers and made a ton of money over a longer than you’d expect career. Not bad for an Ivy League QB.

Fitz is just the insurance policy

Washington will try to get one of the top 4 QBs but if they can’t, Fitz can make them competitive in a bad division

Fitz doesn't have to be perfect. He just has to drive the bus as it rolls over us twice a year. Dak sees that defense coming at him and he will melt like butter.
