Awuzie is gone and they haven't shown that they want to keep Lewis or Woods so I am thinking they're comfortable that either Farley or Surtain will be there at 10.

If both are there, they could drop back and still get one of them. The question is does Quinn have one ranked pretty well ahead of the other?

One thing we can assume, he knows a good D when he sees one and while Carroll supposedly handpicked Chancellor, Sherman and Thomas, he knows what a good secondary looks like and the advantage of tall long armed DB's.

I think in order to get him, the Joneses had to agree to take his input on what he needs to take this to the next level.

I'd like to know if he thinks Parsons might be the next Bobby Wagner because that D he had in SEA was solid in all 3 units, not just the secondary.

The last sentence say sit all. "solid in all 3 units". I am not sure the Cowboys are solid in any level of that defense from last year. I am not convinced either of the CBs will be there at 10, only because this is such a weird draft year and a weak draft class, I am not sure anything is predictable. It would not surprise me to see 5 or 6 headscratchers in the first round.

But here is what I do not understand. If the problem was Nolan last year then why not re-sign Awuzie and Lewis if Quinn is the answer? Why create a need to CB. If they don't sign Lewis they have to draft multiple CBs, not just one.

I am assuming they've talked with Quinn and his secondary coach about all of the DB's up for contracts.

I agree about the draft, it has the tendency to take on a life of it's own once it starts and if a team takes one of the CB's, another could move up to take the other. DEN has been linked to Farley but a lot of what we see in the media is planted there as a smokescreen. Parcells even said lying about the draft isn't really lying, it's gamesmanship. Funny, Merriman didn't get the joke when he told him he was taking him. And Parcells never denied telling him that.
