For a month we were all drafting DTs early and often.
Dallas now has 4 DTs under contract who will all be part of the rotation: Hill, Gallimore, Woods, Watkins.
All are under 30, Woods being the oldest at 28, all 300 pounders.

I’m starting to think Dallas is unlikely to draft a DT unless it’s a late project or a guy with position flex. Very unlikely we would carry more than 4 DTs.

Who says those 4 make the opening day roster? I d carry Galimore but the rest is meh.

I think in the first 3 rounds we do go DT not sure which round. These other guys are just depth and rounding out the roster some may
not even make the team.

If it’s not an early selection, you already have 2nd and 3rd round DTs from the past 2 drafts. Unless we take one of the top 3-techs in Baremore, Nixon, or the Washington kid, I think it would be a much later run stuffer.

I was thinking the same thing the minute they signed Watkins. This draft is not strong for DTs and the Cowboys probably figure Watkins, and now Urban, fill the need in the middle. There is no one in this draft who will make an impact on the DL in 2021. They had to sign someone. Sheldon Rankins is still out there, isn't he?

Yeah, it's our biggest need, along with Safety, so good chance we do not do anything about either.

Jerry hates Safety's for some reason.

20+ year need.

And if they don't sign someone to replace Awuzie it makes CB that much more important in the draft.

Somewhere Jerry is smiling ear to ear reading this thread...sign 2 mediocre backups and the fans are happy. He couldn’t be doing his job any better...spend less $ than everyone while simultaneously making more

It appears the Cowboys will be looking to draft cornerback, linebacker, and safety. Don’t know what order but a Parsons, Stokes, and Cisco first three picks would be a home run.

I only see Urban, Woods, and Gallimore making it. Watkins is a jag and Hill is just not good.

I see a group of average DTs with possibly one starter.

Absolutely need to draft another, and high. Tufele, Levi, McNeil--these are all good options.

See Dallas taking a DT in the 3rd or 4th round. They really need a 1T and they should be able to get someone like McNeil, Wilson, Shelvin, or Togiai. Could also wait until later and get Slaton or Tonga.

4 isn’t enough. Those guys get beat up quick and Hill is coming off an ACL. We still don’t even know if he and Gally can play. We need competition badly.

Unfortunately this draft sucks for DTs.
This. Everyone hung up on at least one of this years DTs, but in reality they not any better then Gallimore or Hill when they was coming out. Gallimore may even headline this years DT class if he was entering draft this year.

Still hope we take a DT sometime on Day 2, but our best hope of DT getting fixed will come from Gallimores development after missing out on just about every upgrade at DT in free agency.

You don’t know this.

I mean sure, that might be their thinking but it would be silly for them to not take a DT in this draft. Watkins and Urban are JAGs. Why in the world would you pass up a good DT in the draft because you have those two?

LOL, don't answer that question.

As we end up 8-8 because we can't stop the run. Great plan.
