Michael Gehlken saying the same thing about a veteran starting S, then through in a line "it's far from over" referencing bringing in free agents.

Signing a corner basically rules out drafting a cb round 1 or 2. Which wouldnt bother me depending on the corner they sign.

not so fast. Look at our roster and the schedule. We gonna need multiple good db's to keep up with the chiefs etc. I dont think it would necessarily change our thinking..but you may be right.

If you sign a guy that is guarenteed a roster spot, numbers wise Robinson has to convince them to keep 6 CB's.

I personally wouldn't rule it out no matter what. CB is a number position, and anyone we sign will be short term

Agreed...unless they spend big on a FA CB...chances are it is just going to be a guy that might play if needed but more of a depth guy.

In no way should it keep them from taking a CB in one of the top three rounds.

The devil is in the details. Starting veteran S could be a guy like Darian Thompson from a few years ago who at one point was a veteran starting S in this league. If history is any indicator it will be a bargain guy like a Neal. I'd love to see them make a run at Anthony Harris but I suspect they'll go much cheaper with a guy like Neal (or maybe Kazee who even with his injury, I'd prefer over Neal).

It would make sense roster wise. Unless they are going to continue the robinson at safety nonsense. Vet, diggs, brown, lewis, robinson, high pick? Thats doubtful but possible I guess

Kareem Jackson could be a name to remember ar S. I believe he was cut. He'll be 33 when the season starts

I disagree with that. IMO, signing another CB is flat out a necessity just from a numbers stand point. They always try to fill the holes with starters before the draft and then try to improve through the draft. Depending on who they sign may determine who they draft in rds 1 or 2, but it definitely wouldn't stop them from doing so.
If they sign a good, quality starter they probably go after Farley or Horne because they need some time, but have more upside. But if they only get an ave Jag or two, they probably go for Surtain as he is more pro ready day 1.

Hayward would probably only be here for a year. Any rookie you draft would be competeing mostly with Brown and Lewis for playing. If a Farley, Surtain, Horn, Stokes beats those two out, they play 70%of the snaps

I dont think theyd sign one of the legit corners and draft a guy to be a back up or try to force a rookie into the slot where they dont have experience

They could very well go with Diggs-Brown-Lewis as starters, with Robinson and Canady as depth, and draft a guy to compete for a starting spot later in the year, if not day 1.

I don't think it's a given they sign another starter at CB.

Well, it's a safe bet we sign either Kazee, Keanu Neal or Ricardo Allen, all former Falcons. That's not exactly going out on a limb.
