I've mentioned this before, Edge could be a big priority

Last year the front office was set on drafting Chassion from LSU, until Lamb fall in their laps and was too good to pass on. It looks like something is going on behind the scenes with Aldon Smith and I don't think he is returning. Team just signed Basham at the position, but don't have much proven depth at the position.

When we look at all the players they interviewed with at the senior bowl, it was littered with Edge rushers.

Don't think there is a pass rusher worthy of the 10th overall pick, but at 44 could be a sweet spot to draft one:

-Phillips, Ossai, Basham, Perkins, Oweh, Tyron

Like everyone but Oweh. Don’t understand how he has all that talent but cannot sack the quarterback.

I think Edge is priority no 5 maybe even 6

CB, FS, 1 tech, LB, Then either OT or edge.

This is assuming they believe Biadazs is solid at C

Looks like everything is a priority except what we actually need, DT, DT, and DT followed by FS

The cowboys were 7th worst in the NFL at pressuring the QB last year. Obviously a push up the middle helps, but the idea that we don’t need serious edge help is crazy to me. As of now we are going to be relying HEAVILY on Randy Gregory to be a good, full time starting DE. Not sure how anyone could feel good about that. Basham, Anae, Armstrong, Carter...we’d like to think 1 of them will develop, but in reality it’s a pipe dream. Going into the season without adding another FA, or at least, a top 100 pick is crazy IMO.

You’re going to bad at pressuring the QB when your DTs get pushed around and can’t collapse the pocket so the QB can just step up

it’s pretty basic defense 101

get real DTs and watch the DEs we already have improve their numbers. Get more edge rushers and watch them continue to underperform

it’s not complicated

A lot depends on Gregory...I wouldn’t pass on someone early due to the value of the position.

Like I said, getting push up the middle with DT's will definitely help. But you're insinuating that we have sufficient talent at DE. I strongly disagree.

They just sent half the scouting department to look at Milton Williams though I think profiles more LDE and passing down 3T.

you can always upgrade talent at any position but our talent at DE is light years better than that at DT and an upgrade at DT will impact the DL much more than adding a rotational player at DE

We definitely need another pass rusher behind Gregory. Besides the obvious reasons we can't rely on him, he could get hurt or whatever and we'd have only Lawrence and Basham bringing the pressure.

If we can get a starter at CB or S still in free agency, I'd put pass rusher at priority number 2. Whether that comes from a DT DE or LB, I don't care.

This is an interesting player. I haven't really seen much of him. I would like to see us draft a couple of edge rushers. I do like Payton Turner out of Houston in round 3.

Feel alot better about Gregory now that 2 years ago. But Quinn also uses different kinds of edge rushers too. A Leo type would get alot of snaps and rushes even with Gregory on the field. Ojulari is best player that fits that mold in the draft. He uses a 4T alot too. There are quite a few quality players who can play there and LDE in the draft. Rousseau, Paye, Payton Turner, Milton Williams (who they seem very interested in)

That Leo role is similar to a 3-4 OLB. The LE 4T is more of a 3-4 DE who has the ability to anchor.

Edge players have been a priority since 1995. Besides Ware we’ve been a pretty much mediocre pass rushing team sine the 90’s. And horrific at creating turnovers.

Agree on Ojulari...DE1 for me this year and I think he's a perfect LEO.

I think Gregory fits that mold too though with how athletic he is is.

He was impressive rushing standing up last season. I thought he could do but was surprised by how natural he looked. But can you play him at SAM like a Bruce Irvin?

Im with @visionary
Get me the DT in round 2 before the DE. if mcneil is there I'm taking him. For all the begging for Tomlinson from fans yall dont want a more athletic version of him? C'mon man

Phillips is a top 5 talent with a scary injury history. That being said he is literally perfect for Jerry Jones in round 2. And I’m ashamed of myself for saying so but I would be ecstatic if we drafted Jaelan Phillips outside of round 1.
