Myself (and others) have brought Jamar Johnson up before...but he's still going WAY under the radar here. If you want a single high FS in this draft class then Johnson is your guy, right on par with likely top 25 pick Moehrig in my opinion.

The John Johnson III comparison is very high praise from Zeirlien and the 6.3 grade is good to make him a top 45 overall prospect in the draft class and 9th best overall DB.

Need to give this kid more respect and attention. Hopefully the Cowboys will be interested.

I've been picking him with our first third round pick.

NFL Comparison
John Johnson III

Overview
Ascending defensive back offering coverage and positional versatility for today's brand of NFL football. Johnson offers enough field fluidity to cover the slot and showed off impressive instincts and ball skills to excite teams about his potential as a high safety. His combination of vision, field awareness and instincts usually have him in the right place at the right time. Johnson is willing as a tackler, but needs to clean up his technique and approach to bolster his run support for the next level. His high football IQ should aid his transition to pro football as a future starter with a strong upside.

special teamer that might have a chance to see time at FS if an injury crops up. I would draft him around round 6.

Care to explain why and the game tape you have watched to come up with this reasoning?

Lol he’ll be third round pick, no way he gets passed round 4. He could sneak into round 2 also. He seems like the type that scouts are more privy to than casual fans.

His name is starting to get mentioned more and more. He might be a player in which the actual scouts are higher then the media ones. I think he is a fall back option if the team cannot draft either Moehrig or Grant. Probably a need to use a 3rd rd pick on him.

everybody can't be rounds 1-4 guys. SOME will slide. Its just the way it is. I like him alot and wouldnt be mad if we took a chance on him before round 6.My worry is that we draft a guy that needs some developing, he gets better, then he walks at the end of his rookie deal and we lose all that investment into the player. I wanna guy ready to rock and roll now, day 1. Hes not that. He's got all tools but needs to learn technique better.Grant for me, is day 1 ready at 44.

Let’s be honest here... you’re making your judgement based on where he is listed on some random website and nothing else

Love this kid! Would love for him to wear the star

Thank you.

Not that he is the be-all and end-all of draft knowledge but it's not a good sign when we are this far into "draft season" and Bucky Brooks doesn't know who you are.

He was on a podcast this week, possibly the Cowboys one, and they were answering fan questions. Someone asked about this kid and Bucky said he didn't know who he was.

If you know me, you know I'm a self-labeled Safety guru. When I watch games and I'm not focusing on specific players, my eyes always gravitate to the Secondary. He didn't really stand out in the very few Indiana games I watched live. That highlight reel is actually very underwhelming as @CalPolyTechnique eluded to earlier. He seems very average, looks like a Day 3 guy to me. I definitely need to watch more.

I heard Dane say this week, he is 100 in his top 100 and struggles against the run.

Pro day results were solid, but nothing special for Johnson today.

However, the hype is getting real with Johnson amongst the talking heads. Was hoping he’d be a 3rd round steal, but not sure how realistic that is anymore

He'll def be in round 3. Maybe 4. That 3 cone is pitiful even at a pro day fir a safety.

Definitely getting a lot of hype and with good reason, think his 40 time will keep him in the 3rd round.
