That long out of the NFL would seem like a long shot, so no.
Honestly, he should probably play a season or two in the UFL to test his playing legs out first.

Yeah I don't think he was ever full time at it, but he has returned kickoffs and punts in both college and the NFL.- Has Ruggs had any experience as a punt returner ?
- i say yes ,..sounds like the man is sorrowful about that night, very apologetic to the victim's family, and he's paid his debts to society with acrrued jail time
and it would not be the first time that a player for the Cowboys has had manslaughter type charges and the club decided to be committed to him (ala Josh Brent)
- And i agree that's low risk - high reward bottom of the roster try out for the 53 roster,.than making it an instant guarantee roster spot/.
Yes, I would.......he's paid his debt. Everyone deserves a 2nd chance.
Last I checked, Brent was still with the Cowboys in the Scouting Department.Ruggs, Kelvin Joseph, Josh Brent...I think we should stay away personally right now...
a mistake is leaving home and forgetting to turn the kitchen light off.He made a horrific mistake, no question about it,
True but if any position a WR with blazing speed is the one who would have the easiest time coming backThat long out of the NFL would seem like a long shot, so no.

He got hammered at Top Golf and slammed into the rear of that woman's car at 156 MPH. The speed limit on that street is 45 MPH!I never said it was not a horrific thing that happened. I'm simply suggesting people ask how easily could that have been them. I certainly made poor decisions at 21/22 years old and got behind the wheel of a car when I shouldn't have a time or two. I'm pretty confident I'm not alone there either. "Luckily" for me I didn't have $20M in contract money, a Corvette to show off in, and the superior level of invincibility these young athletes often have.
I'm certainly not a better man that Henry Ruggs, just a more fortunate man who never got in a wreck during my poor decisions. For that reason I'll let the legal system judge him. I wont.
I think this is what some are missing........as an NFL player, he has a broad platform to reach 100s, maybe 1000s, especially younger kids. IF his experience can change the behavior of just a few, that would save 1 or 2 lives, it's well worth it.Conduct speaking engagements during offseason for student athletes and share his story to influence others to do the right thing and become an advocate against drunk driving and this could easily become a redemption story
