Eagles trade 6th overall pick to the Dolphins

Wentz playing a full season isn't most likely

He has to play 75% of the snaps or 70% and the Colts make the playoffs. Would be pretty funny if the Colts season went sideways and the Colts benched him right before the 75% threshold. Eagles fans would lose their minds.

But more than likely, he'll meet the threshold. I don't think he's as bad as he was last year and given the Colts are pretty good, I suspect at worst, he'll play average which will be just good enough for the Colts to stay in the playoff hunt and not get himself benched.

like I said before, No way the Eagles draft a QB in round 1. This trade shows us this. They are targeting either a db or olineman I think.
depending on how the draft shakes out i could see another wr....

Wow. The Eagles are going to go into full rebuild mode. Possibly 3 first round picks in next year’s draft.

They tried to move up for Wilson but since that didn’t materialize, they moved back to 12 and can still get a wideout there,

So the Dolphins give up a #1 next year? Do they still have a #1 from the Texans' deal?
I'm confucious.

They have two picks this year. The 3rd, which was from Houston and then their own.

They traded the 3rd for the 12th pick and netted another first round pick in 2022 giving them two first round picks in 2022.

They then flipped the 12th pick this year for the 6th pick this and gave up one of their first round picks next year (not sure which one - their own or the 49ers pick).

So in the end, they still have two firsts this year and one first next year.

Yeah but it makes you wonder if Wentz goes out there and struggles.....and they start the season 0-5 or something along those lines....don't you have to bench him at that point? Maybe not then but that's kind of the catch with it. You trade the pick to get a look at Wentz in your offense....if your team sucks...you leave him and give up a potential top 5 pick?

Alright April 29th can't get here fast enough

I think if they are out of it by week 12 or so, they bench him

This is weird because on one hand I can respect the move because Eagles get a 1st next year and with Tua at QB...I'd expect the Dolphins to struggle but who knows.

That being said, if you are a team like the Eagles....that is old and needs youth and premiere prospects....you have to wonder how does this help you in that regard. You're trading away from premiere prospects.....trading away from the best receivers(include Pitts in there).

The move seems counterproductive but on the surface it is a good move.

Yeah and there still is in the injury factor. But I suspect the Colts because they are pretty good on paper, will be hovering around .500 and playoffs at worst so he'll play and meet the threshold. Frankly, it would be great if he was awesome, they win 13 games, they have a pick in the bottom 4 of the first round and Eagles fans have to stomach that while watching Hurts throw balls into the first row.
