Eagles trade 6th overall pick to the Dolphins

That being said, if you are a team like the Eagles....that is old and needs youth and premiere prospects....you have to wonder how does this help you in that regard. You're trading away from premiere prospects.....trading away from the best receivers(include Pitts in there).

The move seems counterproductive but on the surface it is a good move.

I think it's about accepting they might not be all that good this coming year and loading up on picks for the future. At 6, they were basically not going to get Lawrence or Wilson (the reports up here were they liked Wilson) and there are some rumors they tried to make a play for the 3rd pick themselves. When that didn't materialize, I think they went fishing for another pick next year so they have ammo to draft a QB in 2022.

Yeah Colts are one of those ugly teams...its hard for me to get behind. Personnel wise I agree with you I think ultimately they will probably be one of the better teams in the league. It just will make things interesting if they run into a situation that a lot of teams do where they underachieve and find themselves at the bottom of the AFC. Man that will b interesting.

So if this is the case then you are essentially saying you have zero faith in Hurts. After saying you had zero faith in Wentz. After saying you had zero faith in Doug Peterson. AFTER Howie Roseman made the remarks they were a "QB Factory" lol. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing from the looks of things or they are trying to right some wrongs. The wrongs they created.

Its interesting though because this isn't a 3 QB draft. There's about 5 guys projected to go in the 1st round. I think about 4 projected to be potential top 10 picks between Lance, Lawrence, Wilson, Fields......seems like they would've had their shot at at least 2 of them?

Some would argue this is absolutely the wrong draft to be trading up in. I don't know if I'd do what they just did. This is getting too cute IMO. Had Cowboys traded their 1st next year to move into the #6 this year I'd be pissed.

Its interesting from the Dolphins perspective. Seems early in the game to move to that spot. They are obviously targeting someone, but alot can change in the next month. Maybe they want one of the top 3 receiving targets (including Pitts), and have them graded similarly and just want to get to where they can get one of them

For Philadelphia it makes sense. Stack up picks to either 1)Surround Hurts with talent 2) Manuever to get a QB if Hurts doesnt work out.

For them taking a receiving target at 6 made sense. However they have spent day 1 or 2 picks in WR's and TE's the last 3 drafts. Maybe they want to see what they have before spending more premium resources there

There are some rumors that while the owner likes Hurts that the new staff has reservations. Living up here, I am stunned that Roseman still has a job given all his mess ups.

That's a fair criticism. I probably would have stayed at 12, personally, but this does give them a shot at one of the top 3 non-QBs in the draft. They'll end up with either Chase, Sewell, or Pitts, depending on what Atlanta and Cincy do.
 
Has it been confirmed what pick the Eagles got? Did they get the 2022 Dolphins pick or the 2022 49ers pick?

Depends on what you need. Outside of QB's, Sewell, Chase, and Pitts are definitely worth trading up for. Sewell is a potential All Pro and Chase and Pitts are potential triple digit reception guys

However for us, there is no reason to move up in this draft

I think its one of those QB drafts where after the 3rd goes, opinions vary on Lance and Jones. However both are top 15 locks.

I guess but in terms of what the Cowboys can do at 10, it doesn't change all that much.
 
Here's something to think about it.

What if they roll some of these picks into a deal to get Watson?

I mean you can do that with anything. What if they had drafted DK Metcalf instead of JJ Artega Whiteside or what if they drafted Justin Jefferson instead of Reagor?

Tanking will come back to bite them someway or somehow. It always does. No good ever comes from tanking.

Man you're not kidding. And then he made this move today...this is a move someone that is secured with their job makes.

Its so weird though. How do you go from trading up to trading down in this draft? It makes it look like he doesn't know what he's doing.
