Pouring buckets and now basketball on yet so I mock out of boredom

10- Patrick Surtain III, CB Alabama- This is starting to look obvious in my opinion and I'm not buying the late surge of hype from Horn. Surtain's film has always been better and his athletic testing was more than sufficient to cement himself as CB1 in this draft class.

44- Jamin Davis, LB Kentucky- Long, rangy, athletic, and likes contact. Davis represents well what all NFL teams are looking for in the modern day LB- which is the size to play the run in the box combined with the athleticism and skill to play in space and cover. Davis has limited experience, so he may take some time to develop, but the sky is the limit on how good he can be.

75- Payton Turner, DE Houston- Turner brings an overwhelming blend of size and athleticism at 6'6 270 and a quick burst that a man his size should not possess. He's far from perfect in terms of pass rush moves and learning to use his long arms, but upside is huge and can play from day 1.

- Jamar Johnson, S Indiana- No, I will not stop pounding the table for Johnson...Smart, athletic, instinctive, and adequate size for the single high FS position. Has the ability to cover 1 on 1 in the slot as well. 1 of the few S prospects I see in this class that has the ability to read the QB's eyes and react to make a play on the ball. Never going to be a big thumper or big plus in the box, but is a capable tackler.

115- D'Ante Smith, OT ECU- Raw OT prospect with all the measurables and athletic ability you could want at 6'5 295 and 85" wingspan. Needs continued coaching and to put on another 10 or so pounds of good NFL weight, but I really like his potential as developmental OT. Had a strong showing at the Senior bowl that got a lot of scouts excited about his potential.

138- Marlon Tuipulotu, DT USC- Not the sexiest DT prospect as he isn't huge or an athletic freak, but Tuipulotu does a lot of things well. He's stout and extremely strong while possessing pretty good functional athleticism- can play 1 tech without being a negative pass rusher. He's probably never going to put up impressive stats or maybe even be a full time starter, but every team needs solid rotational DT's and I thin Tuipulotu will be that for a while in the NFL.

179- Dylan Soehner, TE Iowa St- Massive 6'6 272 TE that is a very effective 6th oline as a blocking TE. Respectable 4.78 40 and 7.22 3 cone for such a giant guy, makes him useful as a lead blocker and puller on running plays. Can find open space in zones and had fairly reliable hands when the time calls, but will never be a serious pass catching threat. Soehner will happily earn his roster spot as a blocker, special teamer, and goal line package player.

Good find with Soehner, I've been looking for a good blocking TE later in the draft than Treble. Those first four picks could all turn into starters.

Overall looks good. I do think Turner and Johnson could go higher. Turner has been getting some round 2 talk

Payton Turner is also a player I’ve had my eye on. I think he’s flying under the radar a bit. Would love to have him.

Milton Williams or PeytonTurmer ?

2 different players in my opinion.

The 40 time for Williams is obviously gaudy, but I don’t think he has the same type of sudden quickness and bend to his game as Turner to be a legit sack threat from DE. I think Williams will be most effective beating bigger guys inside at 3 tech or 5 tech in a 3-4.

Different skill set but both may come off the board around the same time. I think Turner is really intriguing prospect. Great length. Can play the end and also slide inside at times. Williams had a heck of a workout. But I think he’s too much of a project for round 2 where some think he’ll be selected. Love the Turner pick but I don’t know that he will last til the 3rd round.
