I don’t think Jerry will keep him if the staff doesn’t think he can still help the team
He may keep him around on the staff but I don’t think he will keep him on the roster
And his spot is pretty important because depth at LB needs to be core ST players

then Lee would have signed his one day contract for a dollar and retired already.

Sean Lee was the best LB on the Cowboys roster last year. But we keep hoping LVE and Jaylon Smith are going to get better with a new DC.

How is it disrespectful, wanting to get rid of a player, that is no longer of any use? Is it disrespectful to let someone go, that is no longer useful to your company? Lee, was good when serviceable. He is now a shell of himself.

Lee is a FA whom the Cowboys have not signed. What Lee future may be is unknown but as of now he is not on the team he is a FA. I would not be surprised to see him stay in Dallas as an assistant LB coach.

I don’t think he has decided to retire or not yet
This is not an easy decision for guys who love the game and have spent their lives dreaming of playing in the nfl
I think it’s time but I also think letting the player go out on his own terms is the respectful thing to do
If he decides to keep playing and I owned the team I would wish him the best with his new team. But there is no hurry since it’s March and he’s not under contract
