Parsons, Pitts or Surtain?

AC, the problem is he'll be seen as a reach at 10. Booger wants some oohs and aahs with his first rounders.

I like Barmore but what I like even more about him is he makes Lawrence, Gregory and whoever they line up at that DT spot better. He's the textbook "handful" with his size and Quinn could move him around on the line. When I first started watching him, he reminded me of a young and not yet finished Reggie White, he's a little larger than Reggie was but he has that some movement with his body.
I agree, CC ole friend. I meant trading down first to around the #15-17th spot while picking up an extra 2nd round pick. I'm of the belief it would be best to find a mid 1st round trade partner in order to pick up an extra 2nd round pick. If so, go get DT Christian Barmore in the 1st. I think he's the answer we've been looking for to shore up our interior D-line while making everyone else on the D-line better.

Why trade down? If he is really that good, can do all these things at a high level which you know is hard to find for a DT, then why chance missing out on him and just draft the guy? If the scouts think there is a good chance he can be a pro bowl/all team wrecking ball at a position we've been weak at for a while then I don't want to get cute and take any chance we could miss out on him.
Good point.

Agree, I don't care about draft value, I only care if the team addresses the problems and solves them.

I noticed all of the complaining about where they drafted Yosemite went away pretty fast and he even addressed that in his first interview, his draft value v what he would bring to the team. He said he would make those unhappy, about him being selected where he was, happy and he did that.

So, they "reach" for Barmore at 10 but they got a steal with Lamb at 17 last draft, it all works out.

What is the biggest problem with this team? Run D. If they do not solve that, doesn't matter who or where they draft them.

I think sometimes people get too fascinated with getting the absolute best deal they can. Trading down a few spots and still getting him will look shrewed but IMHO not worth the risk of losing out on him. Taking the best guy who fits what we do so they can be successful is what matters.

I remember when Dallas Drafted Fred Beard.. The pundits said he was drafted too early. Who cares.. I hear it now with Surtain. Too early for him.. trade down. Who cares if you draft him 5 spots too early..

If all three are on the board at 10, who do you pick?

Love Parsons. Pitts is generational, similar to megatron in my opinion. Then there is the calm cool polished DB with Surtain.

I am very torn. Like all three players. If we go Pitts we better get some decent return trading Gallup.
I’m thinking Miami moved back up into that 6th spot for Pitts. There’s not really an explanation for doing so otherwise. They could have gotten one of the top WRs at 12, which is also why Philly was willing to move down! Between Surtain and Parsons, then Surtain and it ain’t even close. I’d probably even try to move down a few spots and pick up Horn or Collins if he’s not there or hell I’d even reach a bit on them before I took Parsons!

Agreed.

I think it makes a lot of football sense to pair up Tua with a top TE talent.

I’m surtain that I want the cornerback.

not sold on parsons.....

I like surtain but CB is decent and deeper this year, but Pitts is out of this world as a TE...so I take Pitts and go CB in second round, like a Newsome II, or even Mohrig as a saftey....

Out of that group, I would go Surtain. I hear good things about Parsons, just haven't watched film on him.
Pitts is a great prospect, but the offense is already loaded with weapons, so pass.
If Pitts is an A+, prospect Surtain is an A-, IMO. A future pro bowl CB for years to come.
I'm a front seven guy and if there was a top caliber DE or DT I would absolutely go that route over anything, but there's not.

Depends on the offer. If enough teams think that highly of him, the offers should be pretty great. I mean, if I'm offered say a low-2nd/high-3rd and a 2022 1st to drop 8-10 spots, I'd have to consider it pretty seriously.

Sure I have no problem with entertaining any offer. But really we all know DT has been an issue for years, if you evaluate a guy that highly just take him. same with safety. No need to be cute about it just take the guy.

Pitts most likely won't even fall to 10 and if he does. He's a guaranteed Cowboy.
No way Booger could pass him by. Before April 29, Pitts is going to approach legendary status. Kiper already started on it.

I did watch him play at FL and I must say, he is a most impressive dude. The only thing keeping him from being a Heisman contender as a TE was Toney on the team as WR. Hell of a player in his own right. I do hope he doesn't get drafted by an East team as the Cowboys historically struggle with TE's and do not have even acceptable S's.

Parsons may be the best player in this draft.

He's my number 1. Surtain number 2. At least for what we need.
He's insanely fast and the guy on tape is just throwing dudes around left and right. He has serious intensity that
is needed in on a team with the worst run defense. Parsons, Smith, LVE, Neal would be fun to watch.

I'm sure it's been discussed already in this forum... but.... is LB Parsons (4.39) faster than CB Surtain II (4.46)?
All of these pro-day workouts have me confused on official 40 times.

Pitts is a 4th option this year. You don’t draft a top 10 pick to be a decoy his first year. Other than QBs, all other top 10 players need to be making a difference day 1.

Miami has a very good TE they took in round 2 in Gesecki. They supposedly love his play. At WR, they have very little. With both Chase and Pitts sitting there, I think they draft Chase because he’s a rare talent himself and their need is much greater at WR.

IMO, Chase is their reason for trading back up to 6. And a very good reason he is.

Having said all of that, I certainly couldn’t blame them for taking Pitts.
