Jerry views Pitts as his second chance at drafting Randy Moss I bet. NO WAY in hell will he pass him up at 10 if he is there. ZERO CHANCE.
I remember listening to the draft on radio. 20 teams passed on Moss (Peyton to the Colts was set in stone). Other than Manning, Moss was the only player from the 1998 draft whom has been selected to the HOF until this year -- add Charles Woodson and Alan Faneca.

Not interested.
I see him as just a big WR who was put into a great position by florida's coaches. They lined him up half the time at TE just to exploit the mismatches.

I see him being a tweener in the pro's. Not excellent as a WR and not a true TE either. Exposed in the running game.

I think plenty of big WR's could do what he has if put in the same system and position.

Go ahead and tell me I am wrong.

'superonyx' - I respect your opinion about Pitts. I sort of had that view of him in the two or three games I tuned in to watch the Gators.
With a month to go, it appears the biggest hype surrounds him, and where he goes rivals the picks after nos. 1 & 2.

Trade back with SF, Atlanta or Cincinnati first, then take Pitts if they can. Someone will give up the house for a QB at number 2 imo.
SF has nothing to trade except for players and Cincinnati already has their qb. Atlanta might be the only option. I would love to get Pitts but just don't think he will be there at 10.

Not many have this opinion of him but I will say this.....I share similar views. I do not think the impact he had in college will translate to the pros and especially this offense. I just don't view him as a tight end. Guys in the NFL are just as big and fast as he is. What would really get me excited about a guy like this is if his blocking was as good as his measurables......

I'd love to find a way to take Pitts at 10, trade Gallup, 2nd this year and a 1st next year to jump back into the first and get one of the CB prospects we like, or Moehrig, or another one of the defenses pieces we need.

I can dream, can't I?

A 2 this year and next year 1st would get you back into the late first or very early second.

Ignore the people who have different opinions than yours and attack you. Your opinion as well as others greatly matter and should be appreciated even though it differs from others.

Pitts reminds me most of Calvin Johnson more than recent TE's coming out in the draft.

We need defense, but it's hard to pass up on such a ridiculous prospect.
I think that's a good analogy
Johnson was a bit faster, but still, Pitts as an elite WR and TE

I amend my post to say 18 or 19 teams .... Woodson @ 4, Fred Taylor @ 9 were great picks.

I have similar views. For me, I hope he's gone before we pick so there isn't even a question about it.

In a creative offense, this guy would line up in multiple spots as a WR and sometimes as a TE

Just seeing him run and such, he looks like a DK Metcalf-type WR: BIG body, game fast, bigger wingspan, bigger hands

Would I want him in Dallas... yeah duh.

But Dallas is OK at TE and WR IMO. Could we get better? sure, but there is too much need on D and OL to use the #10 pick on a TE/WR (IMO)
