The Cowboys will probably draft one of those guys at 10. I think each player would improve the Cowboys dramatically next season. The question is who would be the best pick to help us get to the Super Bowl. Let us look at each player individually.

Kyle Pitts tight end Florida. Super freak player that is 6’6 and runs a 4.4 forty. He played in the SEC and made teams cover him with a cornerback. I see draft gurus like Dane, Kiper and McShay have him as a top 5 prospect. For the Cowboys he would make our offense the most dangerous in the league.

Pennei Sewell offensive tackle Oregon. The man is 19 years of age and started at right tackle at age 17. He is the second coming of Tyron Smith. For the Cowboys he would make our offensive line the best in the league like Martin completed us in 2014. My goodness Martin and Sewell on the right or Sewell and Smith on the left. Absolutely frightening.....

Mikah Parsons Linebacker Penn State. Super freak defensive player. I believe he has more natural ability then White, linebacker Tampa Bay. He played defensive end in high school so he has pass rush ability. Parsons is LVE/Jaylon in 2018 on steroids. For the Cowboys he would be a front seven game changer that will help Tank, Gregory and the rest of defensive line.

Patrick Surtain, cornerback, Alabama. His size is freakish, he is a true 6’2 cornerback with bloodlines. Surtain was born to play in the secondary. For the Cowboys he is a plug and play cornerback that could be Jaylon Ramsey without the attitude. Surtain has no weakness to his game and tackles like a linebacker. Surtain and Diggs could be the best cornerback duo in the league in two seasons.

Rashawn Slater, offensive tackle, Northwestern. A technician at offensive tackle. You can line him up all over the offensive line from day one. Slater has the best film of any prospect from 2019. He clearly controlled the great Chase Young. For the Cowboys he is a newer version of Zach Martin. With this guy we could return back to having not only a dominant offensive line but a smart one as well.

Finally Jaycee Horne cornerback South Carolina. Reminds me of Zaire Alexander, Green Bay cornerback, except has a bigger chip on his shoulder. Horne has NFL bloodlines and is a “Dog” I love the fact that he will ask to take another teams best player. For the Cowboys he could be cornerback 1 and our corners would be set for the next five years. Horne and Diggs could be the best duo in the league in two years.

I agree with you that any of these would be fine

I’m least certain that Horn is worth the 10th overall pick. I don’t think there is much drop off between him and Newsome who will probably be available at 44

My preference would be to trade down if possible

Trade down is a interesting choice. How far are you talking? What is the return? It would have to be a big package to get the Cowboys away from a top 5 talent like Pitts and Sewell. I would also like to know the pool of players you would be considering.

Pitts won’t be there. Can’t imagine they would take Parsons that high.

to me we are down to the 2 OT’s and the 2 corners. Or a trade back.

I agree on the list of players, one will be a Cowboy barring a trade. For me, the biggest impact would be one of those Tackles to make the biggest impact. You could neutralize great fronts like Washington, Tampa with an elite OL. Think Corner also has a big impact. Like to improve the interior DL to give any LB a chance.

Pitts is a game changer, but everyone in the league knows this, I have a hard time seeing him fall past top 5.

Agreed. I like Horn but at #10 it’s a bit too rich for me.

The Cowboys are in the catbird seat. Let’s not screw it up.

I should have clarified

If Pitts or Sewell are there I’m not trading down unless there is insane value. I was talking if Surtain or Slater or Horn are the options especially Horn.

If 5 quarterbacks go in the top 9 there is probably a 40% chance that one of Sewell or Pitts is at 10. Keep fingers crossed.

IMO, Parsons, Horn, and Slater will be there at #10 to choose from.
IMO Parsons is the best defensive player in the draft but this team isn’t forward thinking. I just think they’ve zeroed in on th CB position and we’re looking at Surtain or Horn. I have reservations about whether Horn can clean up his technique. That’s when he resorts to the holding and grabbing. If you think you can clean all that up he is a bulldog.

Dak is the highest-paid player in NFL history, the most logical thing is to get him the best protection when the opportunity is there. Sewell is a no-brainer pick if he is there at #10; unless Jerry wants to be Jerry and do something stupid.

Take the best player available, not reach for a need. They have plenty other picks to address weak areas.
Just another angle, and possible outcome with a WR being the BPA at 10.
Pitts, Swelll, Parsons, Surtain, and Slater are gone by 10:

1. Jags Trevor Lawrence QB
2. Jets Zach Wilson QB
3. 49ers Justin Fields QB
4. Atl Kyle Pitts TE
5. Cin Ja'marr Chase WR, or Devonta Smith WR
6. Mia Penei Sewell T
7. Det Micah Parsons LB
8. Car Rashawn Slater T
9. Den Patrick Surtain Jr. CB

Leaves Horn.
No quality trade down scenario exits.

Ja'Marr Chase, or Devonta Smith , or Jaylen Waddle could fall to 10.
What do you do?

Is Horn the BPA, if Chase, Smith, or Waddle are available at 10 -- with no valuable trade down options.

At 10, take BPA, and a foundational player for the foreseeable future.

I have not seen any rankings of Horn above Chase, Smith, or Waddle.
It might be that a WR is the BPA at 10.

Your doomsday scenario is actually possible. I think we take Horne in that scenario. I have questions about Waddle’s injury and size. I also have questions about Smith weight. 170lbs is quite concerning.

Seeing Smith at their pro-day he looked reallly small.

I’m partial to parsons surtain and horn. Slater and Sewell I think are great prospects but with the restructures of oline seems buying them few more years. Also I think they wanna see what McGovern can do when healthy.

defense for me. Pitts has no shot of being there.

I think Surtain and Horn are regarded very highly by this team. Maybe higher than some think.
