Draft picks in the later rounds are lottery tickets. That’s it. They are not “extremely valuable”. Picks in the later rounds are total crap shoots.

I mean think about what you are saying. Signing a one year, mediocre FA that might net you a 6th round pick two years later is apparently smarter than signing an impact FA that can help your team for a few seasons.
Everyone listen to his words here. He obviously has no clue. This all came about on the comp picks the Cowboys got from signing cheap free agents on a 1 year contract knowing they’ll get comp picks. The Cowboys got a 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th round comp picks this year and this fool is trying to downplay it. He’s a hack, he’s a hater and he’s a troll and always has been. Just Google his posts.

I think the cowboys are in a spot to draft a offense at 10. Best player available

The answer is........ who knows.

History, however, tells us these kind of moves rarely pay off for Jerry and the Cowboys.

Hopefully this is the year they bucks that trend.
They are due from some good luck and if the defensive linemen play like they have during their careers, they for sure have improved. Now they are in pretty good shape going into the draft. They should get some good players in the draft and they should get some good play from the players coming back from injury. They obviously have the best qb in the division. If they play like they can and have some decent luck, they have a great shot at winning the division.

Question, why is the word "hater" used so much around here to describe people with different opinions?

I believe the defense will still be bad and we will still be a bad football team overall. Does it make me a "hater" if I do not believe we are the Super Bowl bound because we signed a a few C level players coming off injuries. Are we pinning all our hopes on some rookies coming from the draft?
Because there is a high number that will complain no matter what they do. For example, A lot of people complain because they signed Dak and the same people would complain if they didn't.

You don't have to be an expert all you have to do is look at the history for the last 25 years. The Cowboys may win the worst division in the NFL, but they aren't going far in the playoffs.
They have as a good chance as anybody in the NFC.

My answer to "have the Cowboys improved" is...yes. It's pretty well documented how I feel about the Cowboys FO and Jerry Jones. But I feel that we are a better football team with the FA's we have signed and getting Dak locked up and that drama over with. Even in my most "hater" attitude towards the FO I feel getting the Dak drama over with, one way or another, and signing the guys we have signed with the money left over has made us better than what we were a year ago. Also the addition of Quinn over Nolan is big. Well getting rid of Nolan is big.

Jury is still out on how much better we will be but overall as a self proclaimed "hater" and someone who doesn't like to give Jerry and son credit, I feel they did good by us in this off season. I feel they made an effort which as a fan that's all I can ask for. Now if we nail this draft then things can be really positive for us moving forward. But yes I feel we are better than we were last year.

i think we are...just with our wounded returning.
ty,basham,neal,kazee,urban and watkins help.
but this off season will be judged by 3 things in my opinion.
1.Dak...staying healthy...continuing to improve and play at a high level, etc.
2.did we correctly identify the right ones to keep and the right ones to let go.
3.the draft.
that will tell everything.
but going into the draft....with our franchise qb locked up and our wounded returning plus the new additions...yeah...we're improved.

The third came from Byron Jones. Not a one year free agent.

And listen to what you are saying. It’s better to sign a mediocre FA that might net you a later round comp pick than signing a good FA who can actually help your team. In other words, it was better to sign Urban because he might net you a 6th round comp pick in 2023 than say sign a Jarran Reed type who could help the team immediately.

we suck I got in on good authority by the experts in zone. The fact is we don't know and every year is different. if your a glass half full guy you are optimistic because if nothing else you are returning healthy players. Your defense played better the last part of the season and depending on draft I believe you have an improved roster. Nolan's gone. If you're a glass half empty guy we didn't address the needs as well as we could have during FA and the roster don't look any better. We got jags for replacements. (bargain bin)the cowboys are going to draft Pitts and jerry sucks.

I think we win the division with 6 losses
6 wins to 11 wins from one season to the next? We haven't improved that much.
