CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan

A friend of mine who hates the Cowboys, or more like hates them because of Jerry.
He is a fair weather fan in every sport though.

Anyway his favorite Cowboys player of all time is Randy White, and said he thinks that number should have never been worn again, such as Roger and Emmitt.
and I can't say I disagree. But at the same time, it is what it is. I was ok with Jaylon getting #54 though. But I understand his opinion very well.

Jaylon will not get #9, as the NFL rules say it will not be so, and Jerry will not allow it, not for a very long time, if at all.
I am just glad he gave Jason Garrett's number of HC to someone new. :lmao:

He's currently wearing the number of a Cowboys legend, a Hall of Famer and SB champion, so I'm not buying the notion that Romo's number is sacrosanct.
Jerry doesnt care about that. That was before his era

Romo is like his son. 9 and 82 will be off limits for a long time

Right....he’s not good enough to wear Romo’s number but he’s good enough to wear Randy Whites? Romo has really benefited by retiring here people now think he’s a HOF guy.

If he wears it this year the question will be who will wear it next year

Why switch numbers now when it's your last year on the team?

He should be more concerned about studying tape and how to read plays correctly

Meh maybe if you're older but if you're 29-30 like me and don't remember anything about the Aikman era, Romo is the one who set any kind of bar as a player in my lifetime (I'm not referring to early 90's Super Bowl play that I was too young to watch.) I'm not saying #9 needs to be permanently retired or anything but the guy was the face of the team for a decade and wether you like him or not competed and played his heart out and gave his all to the organization regardless of wether or not you think he was "good or good enough." If not Romo over the past 20 or so years, then who? Ware, Dez, and Witten were great Cowboys but they donned other jerseys too. Romo started and finished his career in Dallas and I respect that.

This thread should make us all realize this is yet another cheap money grab attempt by the league.

Owners know that many players are going to want to switch to their college numbers and people who already bought a player's jersey will do so again.

Pathetic.

They don't pass on ANY way to make even a very little bit of money. Relatively speaking of course.

Good. By his 9th season in the NFL he should be retired by then.

Jaylon is absolute garbage as a player but you can’t draw up a better physique of what a football player should look like.
