I truly believe the front office wants to address the corner position in rd 1, if not, no later then rd 2. Say, they do draft either Surtain or Horn, which position would you like them to address in rd 2;

-I would like to address the Safety position, don't think Grant or Moehrig falls, but would be very happy taking Holland at that spot.

If there's no deal back with Moehrig the target....they will end up with a mid round type who never plays, and we are discussing this yet again this time next year.

You know that pick 44 is going to be someone they claim to have had a first round grade on and couldn't pass.

That won't be Holland.

I refuse to believe this team takes a safety before the third round.

Yeah, I really can't imagine them addressing this position early. I just can't.

I'd imagine the focus in Rd 2 will be OL or DL. Likely the latter, focusing on pass rush.

I personally like Holland at 44, but I don't know how he's viewed more widely. I'm wondering if he is a Rd 3 guy to the team.

+1 but interesting PPF listing him as a CB

A lot of depth in this draft at safety and nice depth at OT and LB, think we go DT in the 2nd.

Normally this team has not valued the S position, we will see what kind of voice Quinn has as it is a key to make his D work.

Who's there and who's at the top of my board?

I dont want to pigeon hole a pick. Take the best player left on your board.

I actually think Grant will be there at 44 because of his age and pro day results. I think the Cowboys like Holland because of his play making ability and his pro day results. There is a reason that Quinn went to Oregon’s pro day and it was not to see Sewell. If a pass rusher falls to them at 44 they will have to choose between the defensive end and safety.

I fear you are correct with both of these points.
If possible and within reason, they should try to stick to the BPA at 10 or trade out with the intent of getting an extra early 2nd rd pick to help them land either of those top 2 safeties. I don't really see any of the other FS's to be starting caliber. With the exception of perhaps J Johnson from Indiana. He could end up being a good player. But, will he? Can he be had in the 4th?
But honestly I tend to think that if they miss on Grant or Moehrig we'll be SOL again and FS will be a top priority again next year, as usual.

But to answer the question, if they take a CB at 10 and neither of those 2 FS are there and depending on who feel, I'm either taking a LB like JOK, Collins, Davis, Bolton; a DT like Baremore, McNeil, Onwuzurike, Nixon, Tufele; a DE like Phillips, Basham, Ossai, Turner;
or an OT, but only if one of the top 4, Sewell, Slater, Darrisaw or Jenkins is by chance still there.

The LB Davis could be in play, not sure who else MM went to see at UK.

Right now I feel corner is their primary choice, unless something unexpected happens. We seen a lot of rumblings about them liking Milton Williams as I have him penciled in at 75. Don't feel they will take a 1T until 99 at the earliest, Togiai, Marvin Wilson types at 99 or 115. My best guess would be they go Edge, unless one of the top two safeties are there, think Holland might be a little high at 44.

There was a report this week that Grant is being considered a late 1st rd pick now.

I'll bet we eventually hear Dallas had a first round grade on Rousseau whether we take him or not.

I have a feeling he will be the pick if he drops to 44, and I think there's a good shot at that.

Gun to my head right now I'd say the first two picks are Surtain and Rousseau.

I’m not mad at that.

I would not be surprised if Holland goes late 1st.
A bit high for me. I believe he will be mid 2nd now

Rousseau is one of those prospects that the media may like more than scouts. A majority of his wins came lining up inside. He's not a natural bender, and he's so gangly that it takes him forever to gather and change direction. He profiles as a LDE/5T, yet he's currently way too thin to succeed in that role against NFL O-linemen. What do you do with him? I wouldn't be surprised at all if Rousseau slips to the 2nd round.

I’m an advocate of OL in one, but if we go CB 1 and edge 2 I want an OT no worse than James Hudson at 75.
