Edge, Safety, DT, LB, OL or CB in rd 2

I truly believe the front office wants to address the corner position in rd 1, if not, no later then rd 2. Say, they do draft either Surtain or Horn, which position would you like them to address in rd 2;

-I would like to address the Safety position, don't think Grant or Moehrig falls, but would be very happy taking Holland at that spot.

Whatever stud falls:

- DT: McNeil
- DE: Basham, Phillips
- LB: Collins, Davis
- CB: Newsome, Stokes, Melifonqu
- S: Moehrig, Grant
- OT: no idea how to rank these dudes

Similarly at 10, I'm hoping we don't pigeon hole ourselves to a position and try to add top talent. At 44, I want try and secure a 1st rounder that slipped.

I am not trying to pigeon hole the position at 44, just which spot people would like to fill. Let's hope a high 2nd rd grade falls to us, like Diggs last season.

Moerhrig maybe but Holland is a 21 year old play maker. I bet the Cowboys have Holland over Grant. Bigger, faster and younger.
Moehrig played split safeties, Holland was more of a slot corner, where Grant played the most single high which we need. Still believe Grant is the best fit for our cover 3 scheme.

Oh I know you're not specifically I'm just saying...last year was money. Took top talent that fell at 17 and was still able to take need in the 2nd/3rd that were great value.

Exactly. There's a good reason Quinn was at Holland's pro day and not Grant's.

It's a good exercise to try to determine the 1st rd graded players this yr. Usually it's around 15-18 players. At 44, our best hope is one of those high 2nd rd graded players falls.

The Cowboys scouting department is all about measurable (Size, speed, production). They will also care about what school you attend. Grant is solid but Holland is the better prospect.

S
DT
DE

im hoping we finally get this safety spot right.
but would they pass a DE like greg rousseau if he slips....he has the size they like...or phillips....or if paye or ojularai were to fall?

That #44 pick seems huge to me because I think some of these positions could be well picked over come 3rd round...like OT, LB, Edge Rusher and CB. I think they could find a NT, but the quality tho idk looking sketchy. If it's me I'm fixing a position in the trenches NT, OT, LB or Edge.

+1 but interesting PPF listing him as a CB

Never thought about it, but Holland has the skills to play slot or outside and maybe FS too. Remember what Joe Whitt did with Damarious Randall by making him a CB early in GB when he (DR) was considered a FS coming out.
