Gilbert. I thought he looked good with no practice and no preseason and didn’t even have time to learn the playbook. Came off his granny’s or somebody’s couch. Had some talent and moxie and poise. If Dak goes down again does it even really matter.

Gilbert is a 7 year journeyman who has gotten more mileage out of one mediocre start - his only career start - than any QB in history. This board has elevated him to levels non-existent outside of CZ.

If "will do" means set the Cowboys up for a good draft pick, then yeah. He's a bum.

Yeah, I think Alex is going to try to do what Dalton did last season... a one-year prove-it deal in hopes it leads to something bigger the following season. May as well be the Cowboys he does that deal. However, I'm happy with just having Gilbert as our backup. He's cheap and already on the roster plus I think he really showed he could be relied on if Dak goes down again.

I don't let much bother me. I consider myself a mature adult not an overly emotional adult. A lot of posters consider this place toxic. If you ask me that's because of all the overly emotional adults.

It is my fervent hope that that was Dak's last serious injury and he will play at least 95% of the games for us for the rest of his career.
