Prince Philip Dead At 99

Prince Philip quote:

“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, to contribute something to solving overpopulation,”

His role was to insult every possible ethnic group and travel the World making sure that Our diplomatic corps was gainfully employed smoothing ruffled feathers.
The Royal Family has always been very good at that job.

Yikes! I read through his quotes. He called German Chancellor Kohl "Reichskanzler". They haven't used that title since Adolf was in power. It's now "Bundeskanzler", which in English means "Federal Chancellor."

Given his German heritage, he should have known than.

Greek not German.

Most of the Royal familes in Europe in the 20th century are offshoots of the Germans - look at Philip (and the Queens) family trees. The 3 big ones involved in WWI - UK KIng, German Kaiser and Russian Tzar were all first cousins from a German family!

Philip lived with relatives in Germany for a lot of his youth.

I thought whoever this was was dead long ago, not sure the last time I ever heard his name or seen his face. He definitely lived a long life.

In his defense, people were not so thin-skinned decades ago when he made a lot of those remarks. I read today that he had been involved in over 700 different charities during his lifetime that benefitted people from all walks of life. IMO , that more than made up for his distasteful comments over the years.

Great point. People like to pigeonhole people based on certain incidents, but life isn't that simple. In reality most people are complex human beings with a lot of good, but also sometimes foolish mistakes.
