This situation only would happen if 1 of the 5 quarterbacks is still available at 10. Living in Chicago, it’s obvious the Bears are desperate for any hope at the quarterback position. Everyone was against the Dalton signing, wanting to just hang on to Trubisky for another year instead of the old vet.

Hypothetic - what if Chicago offered 1st(20) 2(52) and Jaylon Johnson. I know that is a lot to move up 10 spots but it’s a premium to move up for a QB. All 5 will probably be gone in the first 9 picks anyway.

100% you make this trade.

Not sure what the Bears would offer but it’s desperation city in Chicago. Rumor on all the sports talk radio was the offer for Wilson was 3 1st rounds picks a 3rd in this draft + Jaylon Johnson and Roquan Smith.

How has Roquan turned out btw? I remember him being the cream of the crop LB that year. Don’t watch too much of Chicago.

I have messed around with that trade back scenario, think we can get an additional 3, instead of the corner, but I rather have Johnson in the deal.

I would make that trade.....you get your CB, now you can get your saftey, DT and LB with the other 3 picks.

Pretty cool hypothetical.

fwiw
I'm guessing if we trade down from 10 to 20, it would be this

  • Dallas gets 20, 52, 83
  • Chicago gets 10, 99

But sure, I'd like to get Jaylon Johnson but your trade only says Chicago values him as an early 4th rounder....which is probably not the case.

Johnson would be nice, but its really hard to project players into draft day trades. Just go with picks

Chicago is the most likely dance partner IMO. Especially if all the non QB teams fall in love with somone in the top 10

So who are taking at 20. Should still he some good players there, especially if you want to fix the middle of the defense. Barmore should still be on board. That would be my choice. Could be a good place to pick Collins if they like him as much as has been reported. You lose out on Surtain and Horn, but CB should still be deep at 44

That is why I like the idea of including Johnson. I know that adding players into draft day trades isn’t common but this is a trade that can be worked out before the draft. If none of the QBs are available then it’s not going to happen anyway.

If you are trading down 10 spots to 20 and not getting two first round picks, you failed the trade. You are giving the Bears their franchise quarterback for a second and a cornerback prospect? Hell no!!! I am starting to wonder if some of you all are really Cowboys fans.:thumbdown:

You guys must be bored. It’s a great day in south central Texas. Wild flowers are a blooming.

They are not offering a 2nd year cb that was outstanding in year 1
