Crawford gets smeared often because he is a reminder of both how bad the cowboys have been in the last 10 years at defensive 2nd contracts and defensive draft picks.

Same thing with Connor Williams, he gets extra smearing from the fanbase because he is a reminder of the mediocrity of the Texas Longhorn program at both the college and NFL level

What you are doing "isn't valid criticism". And if you think anyone has a issue with valid criticism then you aren't paying attention. And what a ODD thread to try and give "valid criticism" in....you know what you're doing. Its the same thing you've done for years on this site. He's finally gone and you still can't let him go. I don't get it but its not for me to get.

I didn’t bring his name up.

What I ‘hate’ is being 100% right for years about the waste of time and money that was Tyrone Crawford.

What do you mean
Not at all. You think Jerry all of a sudden changed soon as Jerry left? You think Irvin, Emmitt, etc. wasn't coddled? You think Deion wasn't? Charles Haley? I know it sounds good in theory to think Jimmy was this hard *** but Jerry always ran this organization this way. And no one had a issue with it because we won games and Super Bowls.

What a load of bull****.

Congrats about being right about one thing....were you right on Everson Griffen last year? So you want a cookie because you were right on Tyrone Crawford? Let's have it both ways. Let's talk about all the crap you guessed on and got wrong since you want a cookie for the things you get right.

And if you think its a load of bull**** that's fine but the truth hurts. Its easy to sit here and use "atmosphere" as a excuse for why we suck because I guess it gives some false hope that if we have a hard *** coach maybe things will change. But it won't. It was country club in the 90's. I can't speak on the 80's....

A few guys around here are awfully sensitive about any criticism directed at the team. I'd name them but we all know who they are. It's the usual message of trying to tell everyone else how to be a fan because they disagree with comments suggesting how the team needs to get better. If these guys want to unconditionally love the team or a player, fine but there really isn't too many true haters on this board. I expect us to be 7-9, 8-8 or 9-7 this year and if that makes me a hater, so be it...
The issue, that causes people to reference “haters” is that there is a significant amount of posters who never, ever, say anything positive to say about the team.

The only players they even give grudging respect are underpaid, all upside, young players who haven’t played long enough to disappoint, but let them sign their second contract and anything less than all-pro results in them being demeaned professionally and personally

and that’s part of it too. Much of the criticism from some of the “haters” is very personal and has nothing to do with football

To all the casual fans, Crawford was a good player that did what was asked and he earned his contract, if you can't see that.....I understand.

New theory: the cowboys defensive line has been a pile of dog crap so long, that people have been conditioned to believe that Tyrone Crawford is and should have been anything more than solid depth in the NFL.

“earned his contract”

That’s hilarious. We’re you sucking your thumb with the other hand while you typed it?

And if you’re an NFL player and you’re not a Dallas Cowboy, like … what’s the point, right?

actually you don't know what you're talking about, Crawford was the player that did a lot of the dirty work that allowed DLaw to be productive, that's been mentioned by folks around the organization.
LOL man this board can’t even take a joke. A few more had the same sentiment.

He had more of an impact than fans ever gave him credit for
He was a solid NFL player who was loved by his team mates and hated by the fans
And most of the hate had nothing to do with his play but his salary

I agree. I was making a joke and woof others couldn’t get behind it.

You’re right. Their salary blinds what they do on the field and the Lockerroom.

I seem to recall my all-time favorite 90’s Cowboy trying to murder a teammate at practice and then have an infamous string of criminal and immoral incidents that the team condoned and covered up.

It’s ridiculous that a guy is hated for the contract he signs but we, me included, love a guy who was, at the time, not a good citizen.

Sounds like he was a good teammate. Keep the hate to yourself.

And he did have a big impact on the field. Not every player’s impact shows up in the stats. Crawford made DLaw better and the stats with and without him show that. Last year wasn’t his best, he was clearly in the twighlight of his career.

I don’t ‘need’ or want anything. Other than for the homer’s to drop their revisionist history attempts to help themselves feel better. Drop that crap.

It sure wasn’t a country club in the 90’s. Not until Jimmy left. You’re mixing your years together.

Antwaun Woods is the new Tyrone Crawford
With half the talent
But a bigger waistline so there’s that
I like woods though
I’m hoping he can develope into a nice rotational piece
My fear is the team sees him as more

Its some backwards logic isn't it lol? I'm the same way. Hell I rooted for Greg Hardy for the little time he was here and felt terrible about it. But still did it....was fun watching him wreck havoc on Tom Brady though lol.
