NFL's Charles Davis 17 prospects to pound the table for

looks small and slow but all The draft guys love him, cant play SS THOUGH.

I hope they don’t take a TE @ 75. We can draft Schultz’s replacement next year. Too many good defenders in that range.
Expecting rookies to produce is asking alot. We have 4 picks in the top 100. That's alot of defensive talent you can added even with using one on offense

I think some of these players are already getting a lot of attention from NFL teams. Simi Fehoko turned some heads at his pro-day. I have heard he is this year's Chase Claypool from some talking heads.

Jay Tufele intrigues me. I wonder if he played in 2020 if he would have been a monster, enough to get him a much higher draft grade. It is so hard to evaluate the guys who did not play in 2020. Would they have had break out or break down years?

I like Brady Christiansen in round 3. Might be one of those mid round guys who gets the job done. But I have a feeling OTs are going to go fast in this draft and some guys who might have been 3rd rounders will get plucked much sooner.

I don't know if I like Paddy Fisher. Great name for a LB, I think. But he is slow, not particularly strong or athletic. Good size, but very average pro-day numbers. Yet, he is a football player. Can he get by on that alone? I like Derrick Barnes a little more. He is not as tall but only 2 lbs lighter. He ran a 4.57 compared to Fisher's 4.91. Barnes also had a 37" vertical, and 29 reps on the bench press compared to Fisher's 32 vertical and 20 reps. Barnes is also an old school LB who just hits guys all over the field.

LeCounte is a surprise on this list. He ran a 4.76 at his proday which I think everyone agrees is slow, and he is not that big. Can't judge him on that alone, I know. But I would make him a day 3 pick if I picked him at all. There are a lot of better options at safety.

So that brings me to Farley. Of course if not for his surgery right in the middle of all the pro-days Farley would be talked about as one of the top 2 CBs, maybe even the top CB in the draft. But he had back surgery after having had back issues. If that is not an injury red flag then I don't know what is. We don't know what the doctors are saying about his injury or prognosis for the future. If the docs are saying it is nothing to worry about then someone will pick him in the first round. Remember, some docs said Jaylon Smith would never play football again and teams took him off their boards. The Cowboys docs said he would recover. We can argue whether recovery was 100% but he did have one really good year after returning to football. Farley's injury is different. I am certain he will recover. He may even feel 100%. The question is, will he experience reinjuries or recurring flairups of back problems or spasms that would keep him out of games. Is he injury prone? Back problems don't just go away. Anyone who has had a back injury, even a minor one, can tell you that. Imagine a bad back on a guy being asked to make tackles, or get tackled after an INT. What is interesting is we have not heard any leaks from teams about Farley and his back. Usually before the draft, someone will leak a story that his back is worse than thought, or that he will have recurring issues hoping he drops. That is almost a sign he is okay, or at least one team thinks he is. We have heard he will be fine, but that is coming from his camp. NFL teams are talking about Horn and Surtain. But, we just don't know.
