I’m bummed because I’m pretty sure it’s not happening but I would absolutely love to get JOK on our team. I think he’d be a monster in the role Quinn’s putting Neal in. Heat seeking missling covering son of an *** whooping machine!

Sure but whats wrong with Neal for that?

Not as if he is old.

I think it was Helman that said he had no faith this team could figure out how to use such a weapon. Pretty damning stuff from your own beat writer

I'll admit... I'd fully expect Dallas to park him at Will and leave him there for 70 snaps a week. And that's just not his game.

If we did make him an SS or rover, he'd have the tools to dominate. But his position says LB, so we'd probably just park him in the box and tell him to play hook zone and fill run gaps every down, just like every Cowboys LB has for the last 10 years.

He was slow as a rookie and slower now for 1.
I can't get excited about my top pick in a defense that needs serious help being an off the ball LB slash maybe a strong safety....when if all goes to plan he doesn't play that position this season.

I dont figure on seeing this guy on our team in 2021.

Well, he has a custom-made nickname if he busts ... J-O-K-e.

Just the upgraded model, dont get me wrong, Neal was a good addition but JOK is like the custom made upgrade instant fit for this Quinn scheme.
I know the fear factor associated with Marinelli and the whole taco fiasco punch in the gut, it sucks having to eat that, but a rebound is in order.
If we do get a chance to drop back a few picks, a coup of nice LB prospects that Quinn would love to have hanging out in the 20s..

I know that most would call it a crazy move, but could you imagine how fast we could add instant playmakers to this defense with 2 of this group.

Wont happen, but I have gone over every scenario up, down, taking every position early, late , and I finally stumbled on a few drafts were I was able to come away with 2 of those stud LBs in a trade back.
The look on Jaylons face would be like WT????
Now go be a good GM Jerry and make sure you draft Surtain or Horn.

JOK is one of my favorites in this draft. Unfortunately, where Dallas picks and his value don’t coincide enough for him to really be a candidate for their first, although I personally would consider him at 10. He is the modern NFL hybrid LB/S and is going to be a huge weapon in the league.

What is even more depressing is that he very well could be Washington’s pick at 19. I don’t want Koramoah in the NFC East unless it’s in Dallas.

He’s going to be good, IMO.

least favorite part of the draft is the obsession with value. Grab the dawgs, specially when you can’t get fired.

I keep looking right at JOK and his peers right there in the draft is solid hybrid types, just like you say, bet they all start dropping together right around the top of round 2 if they get that far.

I would love to come out of this draft with at least 1 of the above.

Not a lot of guys have both his comfort mirroring receivers in man coverage and his comfort exploding into downhill tackles. He has Jamal Adams type playmaking potential, you just have to ignore the LB tag and treat him like Jamal Adams instead of as a Sean Lee-esque run and chase Will.

Well said.

I think he’s better than Adams, though Jamal is very, very good.

JOK is going to stop a lot of drives in his time playing this game. He’s instinctive, super natural in coverage, can get to the sideline in the blink of an eye, and is always around the ball. He can literally do anything that you want a LB to do except take on blockers in space and frankly, if you’re asking your Will to do that... you aren’t doing it right.

I have already stated that I think the best path for us would be to trade down, get JOK (2 players in one) and take advantage of the extra pick. Nice to know I have some company.

We dont even need a trade down. Hes way better than Horn and I thibk slightly better prospect than Surtain
