I can't get past the scouting reports speaking to Horn's lack of fluidity / stiff hips, the grabbynes and him getting throttled by Alabama. I like the player, but think he needs to play in a press man heavy scheme and isn't as versatile as Surtain. I honestly see him as a fringe 1st rounder so 10 would kill me.

My opinion isn’t quite so low but I definitely prefer Surtain. A much safer choice at #10 with far less risk or chance to bust. And in watching tape on Horn, I didn’t like the times I saw him quit when he got beat. That, along with the pass interference calls and low number of interceptions, are too many red flags for me.

I agree...I have concerns around Surtain's athleticism too but think he's more versatile and his technique is so solid he won't allow as much seperation.

I disagree. I have read/heard that Horn is the more twitchy athlete, he is far more versatile as he has traveled in taking on the best other team's best receiver. No corner has separated themselves, think they are closely rated, it's really a coin flip.

Agree to disagree...this is literally 3 of the first few scouting reports I pulled. The only legit 1st round WRs he faced were Bama...he gets a bit of a pass as he was young but he got thrashed. If he was so good of an athlete he would've run the 3 cone and short shuttle at his pro day...another red flag.

Ya, it's not that I don't like the player. I really do like him...I just don't think he's a top 10 talent...at all.

Unfortunately for us it's a weak class up top for defense...but that doesn't mean we should reach for need IMO.

If you havena guy that has shut down everyone he has faced, he would be a top 4 pick. Neither Surtain or Horn are in the class of a guy like Ward. But Ward went 4th overall

Both Horn and Surtain are going to be good.

Just a side fact; Horn was always asked to cover the opposing team's top WR or receiving threat.
Surtain was not. Not his fault as it was the scheme, but just sayin'

Btw, as deep as this CB class is t wouldn't bother me at all if skipped corner at 10.
There could easily be 8-10 future CB starters in this draft. These two may not even be the best of the bunch long term.

Horn's my target. Think you're wrong about him, worried about a bad game from two years ago but not the games in 2020 he shut guys down.

In a bad draft, I see good character, great athlete and competitor, excellent production in college, and plays a position we need filled.

Get over it.. He's the most talented corner in the draft and moves much better than Surtain.

Jaelen Phillips is the best defender in the draft but I haven't heard a peep about Dallas being interested.

Sure...but if we're taking a player in the top 10 wouldn't you like to see him be more competitive against another top 10 talent? Unfortunately Chase sat out so we didn't get to see him match up against him but the SEC WR group is watered down this year. It's Alabama's crew and Chase and then a bunch of day 2/3 guys.

Listening to the insiders on ESPN and Daniel Jeremiah, they think the Cowboys will pick Horne. So you might be throwing stuff at your television.

I saw that entire Alabama game when I was looking at Jeudy.

That team had Tua, Jeudy, Riggs and DSmith.

How was Horn supposed to shut that down on his own? If he did he should be picked ahead of Lawrence.

That said, this is why I can't take corners early. They are never worth it. Not with the rules the way they are.
