Rashawn Slater position

PFF gave him the rookie center award, in their words, by default. As he was less terrible than the runner up.

Only two rookie centers played more than 200 offensive snaps this season — Lloyd Cushenberry III at 1,076 and Biadasz at 427. Among 37 qualifying centers, Cushenberry’s 40.5 PFF grade ranked dead last. It’s hard to put a player with that kind of performance on the all-rookie team, which leaves Biadasz as the default selection.

Granted, Biadasz didn’t dominate by any means, either. His PFF grade of 53.6 at center this season ranked 33rd among those same 37 qualifying centers, but he did edge out teammate Joe Looney (53.1) on a Dallas offensive line that was interchanging parts all season. The Cowboys will hope some stability brings better results in 2021.

The only good anyone can lay claim to Biadasz is that he was a very good Wisconsin center that everyone fervently hopes will one day bring the same claim to the NFL.

And as you’re trying to ignore, you’re being told that the same guy was rated as the#1 run blocking center in the league.

“Tyler Biadasz, taken by Dallas in the 4th round. Currently rated as the #1 run blocking center in the league.”

But continue to practice that willful ignorance if you need to.

I'd like to know of a single example of a rookie collegiate T going to NFL center post, oh, 2000. I bet the count is 0. Skill sets are markedly different.

D-

Biadasz was a rookie linemen in a year without a normal offseason. OL players are rarely ready as rookies. He’ll be fine. He’s unlikely to ever be Fred, but he’ll be fine.

Ok and you continue to think Biadasz is a good NFL cemtwr

I certainly prefer upgrading Williams at left guard over Biadasz at center. Not that I wouldn’t look for a backup or other option if the opportunity presented itself. But Conner McGovern played the center position as well.

Sucked at it too

Great idea though, bench one of the better ranked guards and keep one of the lower ranked centers starting.

I’ve been reinstated for a few years now. I see the overvaluing of parts and whole of the franchise are still going strong in some though.

As well as the ignorance of some thinking they ‘know better’ than everyone else.

I actually like Slater quite a bit, but we're not going to spend a top 10 pick on a guard (especially because we've invested in the LG position with both Williams and McGovern).

I don’t like to call him a guard. Chess piece is more apt.

I actually posted for a number of years before I was banned. Fail again.

Meaning what exactly? That at one time you knew how to behave and get along with people? Good for you. Too bad you forgot.
