Yeah, the energy was interesting. Attitude, the love to compete and love of the game... all things desperately needed on defense.

This is very, very good news that the guys at the top are looking for those things in this draft. It shows that they realize there’s a need for change there.

When this front office sees a need, they always address it. The problem in the past has been that they haven’t seen the need like we fans have.

I’ve been saying for a while now that they need speed and change of direction in defense... particularly LB. To hear McCarthy say size and length are good but they need speed is music to my ears.

They’ll get guys in this draft that will help a lot.

MM did and said something last year because I thought at the beginning of the season the effort on defense was terrible. Then they cut those guys and suddenly guys were flying to the ball and we were getting all kinds of turnovers. The only player quote I saw was "he just told us that the end of the season is when you want to be playing your best football" but I'm sure there was more to it than that.
