Good lord, it's like you haven't read a word of this thread or ever seen the JJ trade chart.
Three things about that trade.
1. It was for a QB. I've already noted several times that trading up for a QB can sometimes drive an overpay.
2. It was to the #2 spot in the draft. I've already noted several times that teams will sometimes overpay to get to #1 or #2.
3. That trade matched the chart perfectly! The #2 pick is worth 2600 by the chart. To get it, the Bears gave #3 (2200), #67 (255), #111 (72), and their 3rd-rounder the next year (roughly worth 75 after discounting a round). That adds to, well I'll be damned, 2602 points.
Like I said, we've been through this, you're just ignoring everything that was already said.Auhhh......... OK, so no QBs, I see. The goal posts just don't want to seem to stay put do they?
Where do you see 200 points difference? I suggest you try actually reading next time. The Trubisky trade, your big example, was 2 points difference, dead even by the chart. The RG3 trade was about 100 points different (4%). You think the Eagles should have paid an 18% premium for a non-QB. Please stop embarrassing yourself. But see, we still got Quick Sand JD because now you are judge and jury on whats fair right. So 200 points difference and that's acceptable but a scenario where The Cowboys get a 2nd rather then a 3rd or maybe an extra 4th or 5th is out of the question right? Just stop. You are craptastic at this.

Sure, if you make up how teams value future picks, you can make it come out however you want. And even with your garbage made-up evaluation that no team actually follows, it’s closer than your proposal for Eagles-Cowboys. And you’ve stopped talking about the Trubisky trade, which was dead on value. You’re pretty clearly just trolling at this point; anyone reading can tell that, so no point in continuing.2600 2nd overall Rams
1600 6th overall Skinz
510 39th overall Skinz
425 20th in 2013 at 1 half value (850)
350 15th in 2014 at 1 quarter value (1050)
So like 285 pt difference, not 100. That's where the 200 comes from. I suggest you follow your own advice. I never said a 2nd btw. I said I think we could have gotten a 2nd out of them or perhaps a lower pick in addition to the 3rd thrown in. That's what I said. Also, I said you are craptastic at this. So far, all true and you know what?
Somehow, I don't feel embarrassed at all!

And because we were stupid enough to have a "no trade" clause in the contract. Really dumb to take any threat of drafting a QB out of the equation before the draft began.Because every team in the NFL knows there is ZERO chance we'd want to keep Fields on the roster given we just gave Dak a massive deal. So the offers wouldn't be as strong as you think.
For all of you who constantly whine about Jerry always getting fleeced—the trade value chart indicates that we got very good trade value in the trade down and “won the trade”. That is all. Thank you. Take care.
The trade itself might have been fine.
The trade the Giants got was better.
Why didn't they make the deal with the Bears?
Why didn't we draft Fields and entertain offers?
Those were better options, IMO.
he laid up in your opinion!!that all it is puffing by fan behind keyboard..Jerry did well but he could have done better. You have to follow the draft to understand the whole picture. When we had Mac Jones and Justin Fields on the board, that was a golden opportunity...... a dream scenario to really kick this draft in the teeth and get the most out of it. But Jerry layed up instead going for the green.

Nobody is trading for Dak anyway with that contract. He's got the second richest contract in NFL history and you can't surround him with anything less than pro bowl talent. Rather than draft Fields, Dallas could have gotten their lazy yacht butts on the phone to a QB needy team and probably landed something at least on par with what the Giants got. Then , fields goes 10. D Smith goes 11. The Jets and Chargers still need OL to help their young QBs. The Patriots are still drafting Mac Jones. We could have swung a trade with Phoenix to move back up and grab parsons.......and still come away with an extra first round pick next year.
Trade was good no matter how anyone performs considering we would have taken him at 10 or 12.Trade was good for both teams for now. Let's see how these players perform on the field before judgment is passed.
